Dear PHWM Soccer Families,
We hope you remain safe and healthy during this health crisis, as we all continue to grapple with the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, we are reminded of the importance of working together to get through these difficult times.
The health and safety of our youth soccer community remains of utmost importance. The current status is Maryland State stay at home policy is still in effect, a no gathering of more than 10 person policy is still in effect, Baltimore County public schools' buildings/classrooms/outdoor facilities are closed through 5/15/200 and the Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Department policy of all organized recreational activities are canceled until further notice is still in effect. The outlook is most of the policies will remain in place through the mouth of May.
The uncertainties of, the duration of the Federal/State/Local restrictions, the affect of return to "normalcy" on the spread of the virus, the safety and health of the community, these uncertainties make it difficult for parents, children, and volunteers to make an informed decision to participate in a spring soccer season. Consequently, PHWM Soccer has decided to cancel the PHWM Soccer recreation program spring soccer program.
PHWM soccer (WMRC) will refund the spring soccer registration fee (minus the $3.00 service fee) through the registration vendor. The registration software vendor will do a bulk refund to the credit card account used to pay for the spring registration fee and than cancel the registrations. There are 839 children registered for spring soccer season which is 794 orders.The time frame for refunds to be completed is 2 to 3 weeks.
PHWM Soccer thanks all the parents who volunteered to coach, assistant coach and team manage for the spring season and encourage you to volunteer again for the fall season. Parents, thank you for your patience, this is not the decision we hoped for but in our opinion is best for the community. A special thanks to the age group coordinators for their patience, stop & go planning for the spring season and their continued support of the PHWM soccer program.
The benefit PHWM Soccer has over other spring sports is there are fall and winter recreation soccer programs. Some spring sports, if the sports run, may run into July. We thought it best to focus on the organization of the PHWM Soccer fall recreation soccer program which is tentatively scheduled to start practices in mid to late August and clinics/games in September. Registration for the fall program will opened in late May and organizing the fall program takes place in July and early August. The running of the Fall soccer program will be based on the safety and health of the community and the Federal/State/Local restrictions. Fall program information will be posted on WMRC/PHWM Soccer website and email notification will be sent to all prior PHWM soccer participants.
