FGYSL is entering its approximately 45th Fall Recreational Soccer Season. We have seven clubs in FGYSL, which are loosely organized
around the elementary school of the corresponding name: Forkner, Figarden,
Gibson, Kratt, Malloch, Saint Anthony’s and Starr.
You may
register your child with any club, in most cases families register with the
club that either corresponds with the school their child attends, the nearest
school, or where friends are. We do have
children that attend magnet schools, such as Bullard Talent, Manchester Gate,
and Dailey, at the different clubs.
Each
club handles registration and team formation separately from the league. The clubs provide uniforms, trophies, and
make arrangements for photos, etc. Each
club has a different registration fee, generally somewhere between
$100-$110. The League runs the
administration and operations of the actual games.
Each
club has a public facebook page with more information about it, and some have
websites, e.g., Gibson and Malloch. Some clubs offer online registration.
Overall, more than 1,500 children play in our soccer games on any given weekend. We operate on up to 23 different fields. We contract with Nationally Licensed Referees to referee our games, and at each site there are Field Commissioners who help in game day operations. Each club has coordinators and administrators who can answer most questions and handle most issues that families might have.
In addition to our recreational program, we have a National Premier League Competitive Club, Central California Soccer Alliance. For teens, we partner with Fresno North Teen Recreational Soccer to provide opportunities to play recreational soccer through to adulthood.
We are a 501c(3) not for profit operated entirely by volunteers.
We are adding the capacity
for new fields, and trying to implement
improvement to our field conditions. We
will be operating 23 soccer fields for over 1,500 soccer players. We can use
volunteers to help prepare fields, and we can always use referees (paid @ $20
per game). If you think you might be
able to help, please let us know.
