U9 - U12 Youth Development Program
Fall 2018 will be the last season the U9-U12 YDA program will be offered.
Players born 2008-2009 will play in the U9/10 division which is further divided into a boys and girls division. Players born 2006-2007 will play in the U11/12 division. The goal of this level is to continue developing basic soccer foot skills while adding passing, shooting, defending and goal keeping.
- Spring Season will begin late March and consist of 8 games.
- Fall Season will begin in mid August and consist of 8 games.
- These divisions play withing the Medina Recreation League and game schedule is set by the league to run 4/9-6/4.
- Games are typically played Saturdays mornings with possibility of 1-2 weeknight games.
- Games are 25-minute halves played 6v6.
- Training will be available one night a week which will consist of 45 minutes of training followed by 30 minutes of team practices.
- Most games are played at Huffman Park on Route 3 in Medina. Home games are played at Granger Park Fields or Sharon Park Fields. There could be travel to Buckeye, Medina, or Cloverleaf as these are some of the other communities that play in this league.
- U11/12 team is historically co-ed, but depends on the number of players registered.
- Mandatory equipment: size 4 soccer ball, shin guards, cleats, water bottle and a set of HYS soccer shirts.
Cost: $85 for the spring session.
