I am very excited to share that we have successfully moved forward, and landed in our new youth football league. On behalf of the board, we are pleased to share that we have joined the NorCal Football League. Here are some highlights of our new League.
- The NorCal League is affiliated with the American Youth Football National League, the largest youth football league in the world with 27 Associations in our local area
- We will have the opportunity (if we choose) to play in local, regional, and national competitions within the AYF structure
- They have a strong cheer program across their league and also offer Dance and STEP teams.
- The League structure offers 14U, 12U, 11U, 10U (Cadet), 8U (Mighty Mite), and 6U (Tiny Mite) with unlimited weights like this past season.
After much consideration regarding our options, we elected to pursue the NorCal AYF League due to their competitiveness, stability, national affiliation, and operational focus. In the end, we chose a League that we believe will give our players, families, coaches, and administrators the best experience.
With this decision complete, I want to remind you that this year will be a transitional year. We are working hard to line up the rules and expectations for us, and as we learn them, we will share the information. One early learning is that camp is eligible to start as soon as July 27th. We are not 100% sure when we will start camp, yet, and will confirm ASAP. FOR NOW, camp will start no later than Aug 1.
Registration opens Super Bowl Sunday! Please be sure to register early, as we expect numbers to increase again this year over last, with the likelihood of 2 teams at the 12U and 14U levels, just with our returning players! I anticipate waitlists this year, so you heard it here first - register on Super Bowl Sunday!
