Season Update
Bronco Nation - I hope and trust you are all moving through this Covid-19 experience and becoming stronger as a family, individuals, and members of our community. With the recent events, I want to share a few updates with respect to our 2020 season.
First,
our season is continuing forward
with a few modifications.
We are suspending any late fees for registrations on or after April 1 and are keeping registration open across all our teams. We cannot wait to get outside and exercise our Bronco Nation!
Our May Parent's Clinic is in jeopardy at this point. We have not scheduled it yet and are looking into how we can best conduct the session keeping the context of local health and safety first. Stay tuned for more.
We are working with our league to coordinate decisions that are in the best interest of our players, families, volunteers, and community.
Beyond those minor updates, I want to share some words of compassion, support, and strength for our Bronco Nation.
Few of us, if any, ever imagined a life situation like this Covid-19. Sometimes it feels like armageddon out there and in our house of 3 boys(!). Sometimes it feels like the greatest gift, especially in our home, reminding me to enjoy the simple everyday pleasures of family and community.
I feel like I am living a paradox, am reminded of one of my favorite leadership lessons from Admiral John Stockdale,
a
United States Navy vice
admiral
and
aviator
awarded the
Medal of Honor
in the
Vietnam War
, during which he was a
prisoner of war
for over seven years. Through his life experiences he frames his learnings in the quote "
You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be."
I hope these words help to build strength in all of us, and at least might prompt you to ponder your inner mental state for a second. Take great care of yourself and each other in the days, and weeks ahead. If the Broncos can be of support to any of our Nation, please let me know.
Go Broncos!
