RUSH SOCCER WELCOMES KOTOKU ROYALS FC AS OFFICIAL RUSH SOCCER MEMBER

KOTOKU-GHANA-RUSH

Kotoku Royal Football Club Academy (Kotoku Royals FC), a Professional Football club which originated from Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipal Assembly in the Eastern region of Ghana, has decided to partner with Rush Soccer and officially become Kotoku Ghana Rush.

Established in 2003, Kotoku Royals FC was created “out of the singular passionate desire and charitable hands of the Founder, Linford Boadu Asamoah, to unite the people of his area through competitive football activities which can also facilitate individual, communal and national development as well as secure the wellbeing of talented, but deprived kids through a well structured and sustainable management system.”

Furthermore, it was created as an academy “with the main objective of helping the Ghanaian kids acquire useful occupational skills in football; through counseling, nurturing, training and equipping them with skills that would earn them professional careers with either local or foreign teams, thereby helping eventually to reduce unemployment, poverty levels, illiteracy rates, the drug menace, and other forms of social vices like armed-robbery within the Ghanaian society.”

Ghana Rush was first established in 2009 by Ahmed Kwasi Agyeman, a Ghanian U.S. based citizen, who brought a lot of donated REACH equipment and Rush branded gear to help the coaches and players in Akim Oda in Ghana. There were a number of kids and youth who benefited from the gear donation at that time. The donated jerseys stood out in comparison to neighboring clubs and unified the kids at Ghana Rush. Linford Boadu Asamoah (better known as Kofi), President of Kotoku Royals FC at the time (and now President of Kotoku Ghana Rush), noticed the players in the Rush branded uniforms, but at that time did not have a relationship with Rush Soccer since he was leading one of the neighboring clubs. Due to Ahmed’s busy schedule in the States in his senior year of high school in 2009, he was unable to find the right personnel to manage the day-to-day administration of Ghana Rush. Eventually, the Ghana Rush players joined Kofi’s club where Kofi continued organizing teams from ages 10-18, and fielded a professional team as well.
