REQUIRED GEAR

• Helmet
• Mouth guard (helmet strap type recommended)
• Chest and Shoulder Pads (must be NOCSAE certified!)
• Elbow pads
• Lacrosse stick
• Lacrosse gloves
• Athletic protective cup
• Shoes with cleats (lacrosse, football, or soccer cleats, no baseball spikes)
  
• Water bottle that can be used without removing helmet (bring water to all practices and games)
• Gear bag (Optional)

 


WHERE CAN I FIND GEAR?
Most sporting goods stores will stock basic lacrosse gear. LaxNW TRF is a specialized lacrosse training and retail facility in Tualatin. You can also find gear at Dick's Sporting Goods, Big 5 Sporting Goods and Play It Again Sports.

When buying used gear, make sure the chest protective gear is NOCSAE certified. Most older chest protective gear does not carry this certification.

SUGGESTED CLOTHING

• Uniform: IBW Youth Lacrosse jersey and shorts are provided to new players and should be worn to all practices and games
• Socks: polypropylene wickaway as first layer, and wool or wool / polypropylene as next layer
• Shirt: wickaway material as a first layer underneath pads
• Additional wickaway layers, as needed
• Dress for cold and rain, as needed
