As a player, I pledge to comply with the letter and spirit of the IBW Youth Boys Lacrosse Code of Conduct at all times as stated below.
Specifically, I pledge to:
- Be EARLY to practice and games. If practice starts at 6pm, this means being ready to hit the field by 5:45 pm.
- Honor the game by working hard, playing hard, always doing the right thing, treating everyone with respect and having fun!
- At all times demonstrate respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents and other
spectators. - Cheer for my team in a positive manner during games and practices, and and I will
not make comments towards the referees.
- Demonstrate and encourage good sportsmanship and fair play.
- Not throw my stick on the ground.
- Not challenge referee calls.
- Focus on learning, participation, and always be a team player.
- Abide by the abide by the Rules of Lacrosse.
- Support a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free environment.
Further, I pledge NOT to:
- Use profanity at a youth event.
- Criticize coaches, other players, or game officials.
- Touch or engage opposing players, teammates, coaches, or game officials in a threatening manner.
Players, please understand that the safety and welfare of you, your teammates, opposing teams and spectators is our top priority. Violating this "Code of Conduct" will result in disciplinary action, including, but not limited to:
- A verbal warning on first offense with immediate apology to the offended party/parties.
- On the second offense, the player will sit out practice/game as applicable.
- For third or multiple offenses, other disciplinary action (including potential expulsion from the
team and / or program) will apply.
