Umpire duties!
Umpires who take their appearance seriously get more respect from the players, coaches, and fans.
Powder blue shirt and dark blue/black shorts or pants - Shirts Provided
Navy blue or black hat preferably, (don’t wear it backwards in the field.)
Arrive at the field 15 minutes before game time. We don’t want the coaches to panic.
The game can’t start until you get there. Don’t be late!
Pre-game meeting with coaches: Introduce yourself and partner.
Checks are mailed to your address on file unless you make specific arrangements.
Standard - Plate - $25, field - $15. Alone $40 (specific umpires only for alone)
Remember the game is important to the players, coaches, and fans. Your job is to enforce the rules and be fair when applying said rules. Look like an umpire, have sound mechanics and a consistent strike zone. Announce the count often - balls then strikes - make your calls loud and with confidence.
