FAQ

This page should be able to answer any frequently asked questions that you have about the online registration page.
If you still need assistance after reading through these FAQ's please contact us at [email protected]

1. Can my son/daughter play in a division higher than their age group?
No. Little League and NLL have rules in place that do not allow players to play above or below their determined age groups.

2. Can I register more than one child?
Yes. You can register more than one child, and in the spring discounts are offered for the 2nd and 3rd child.

3. Can my son/daughter play with her friend?
Anything above Tee Ball is difficult to accommodate that request.  Players are chosen by the coaches in a fair and impartial draft environment.  Any requests can be sent to the Player Agents email.

4. Do I have to work the snack stand?
The Northfield Little League snack stand is staffed entirely by volunteers. The funds brought in through the snack stand's sales help us to keep our league's registration costs down in addition to paying for the season's umpires. While we certainly encourage everyone to step up and volunteer as often as possible, it is not a requirement to do so.

5. Can anyone play All-Stars?
Every player who has played at least 60% of the games in our recreational league are eligible to be chosen by the coaches to try out for the All-Star team, keeping in mind that each level is permitted to roster only as many as 13 players.

6. What happens if we need to go on vacation?
In recreational ball everyone plays. If you miss practices your child will still get play time. However, you must keep in mind your team members, the coaches, and the other families who paid like you to watch their kids play baseball/softball, not forfeit games due to a lack of players. In competitive leagues such as the All-Star teams this is much less acceptable, because they cannot pull players from other teams to fill their rosters. You are encouraged to please schedule vacations around your game schedule whenever possible.

7. Do you have a Hardship Program?
Yes. We do offer hardship, but again this is at the discretion of the members of the board, and you may be asked to provide sensitive information to assure that you qualify for such a program.

8. What level will my son or daughter be placed in?
There will be a clinic for each level of play (except Tee Ball) and that is based on age (not grade).  Some players could play up if the age bracket allows.  Your son/daughter will be invited to attend all clinics that their age allows. The coaches will decide the rosters based on skill, maturity and safety.  Players will not be "moved up" just because the other kids in their grade play at that level.
