Hello Milan Youth League Community,
As we are all aware, we are living in unprecedented and uncertain times. In the past couple weeks, we have all been through a lot of changes as well as ups and downs dealing with Covid-19 (coronavirus). Many businesses are temporarily closed or having to change how they operate. Most athletic organizations as well as schools (college, universities, and K-12 schools) have postponed, cancelled, or suspended all activities effective immediately.
I have been in contact and working with Little League International, our District Administrator, as well as other league Presidents. Effective immediately, Little League International has suspended all Little League activities such as playing, meetings (including parents, players, coaches, drafts, etc.), and basically all functions until May 11, 2020. The Milan Youth League board and I will continue to work diligently behind the scenes to prepare for a season as we are confident that when all this chaos passes, we will play ball!
Please continue to do your part in helping us as a community to move past dealing with Covid-19 as quickly as possible by following the recommendations set forth by the CDC and other emergency medical personnel:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html
Thank you for everyone’s understanding and patience. We will update the MYL community with information as it is available. At this point, this is all the information we have, and further questions will not have answers until we move closer to May 11, 2020.
This is a decision that no one wants to make, however, we must remember that we need to take care of our local community, state, and country to ensure the health and safety of all people. Please stay safe, wash your hands, and remember this too shall pass! I look forward to seeing everyone at the ball fields soon!
Sincerely,
Joshua Vance
Milan Youth League President
