Opening Day Schedule

SJBS 2019 Opening Day will be on Saturday, April 13th, 2019 beginning at 9:00 A.M.

All players should arrive by 8:30 in their uniform to the staging area in the field outside of the Leonard West field (not inside the field fence). Once you arrive, look for your team's sign and gather with your coach and team to prepare to line up for the parade.

The parade will begin at the corner of 15th and Worth and will follow the walking path along the edge of the park. Parents can stand in the grass along the path to cheer on the parade walkers. The parade will end at the outfield gate of Leonard East. Each team will be announced and enter the field for a photo opportunity with Rowdie from the Indianapolis Indians.

Parents, family, and friends should wait outside the field until all teams have been announced. Once all the teams are lined around the field, everyone may join behind them for our opening ceremonies.

The games will begin at 10:00 A.M. following the parade and opening ceremonies. A full schedule of the day is listed below.

We are looking forward to a great morning. As we all know, spring in Indiana is anything but predictable. Our desire is to have the parade and opening day games as planned, but we will make adjustments as needed for safety. PLEASE NOTE: If the weather is a concern, we will make a decision to move forward or cancel the parade as soon as possible. If we are forced to cancel the parade for weather issues, it will not be delayed or rescheduled. We will do our best to ensure that we can play as many games as possible that day.
