FALCONS ANNOUNCE FIVE-MEMBER HALL OF HONOR CLASS

GRANTHAM, Pa. – As the Falcons welcome alumni back to Grantham for Homecoming Day 2018, Messiah Athletics announced the newest induction class for the Falcons' Hall of Honor. After inducting four members in each of the last two years, Messiah announces the induction of five members in the class of 2019: Amy Reed '08, Kai Kasiguran '08, Jono Linebaugh '05, Jamie Noble '85, and Joan Chamberlin.

"Each year we have the opportunity to recognize outstanding alumni student-athletes, coaches, and administrators, and to celebrate their tremendous contributions to Messiah Athletics," said Executive Director of Athletics Jack Cole. "This year we have the privilege to do that once again with a five-member induction class, and this year's members make for a tremendous group."

The induction banquet will take place on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, on campus at Messiah College. Click here to register for the induction banquet.

Below is a quick bio on each of the respective inductees:

Amy (Reed) Stead '08 – Women's Track and Field
A highly decorated track and field athlete, Amy (Reed) Stead enters the Messiah Hall of Honor as an NCAA Champion in the Heptathlon in 2008 and a three-time All-American in the Heptathlon (2006, '07, and '08) and a two-time All-American in the Javelin (2007 and '08). Her lengthy list of accolades includes MAC Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year and US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Women's Field Athlete of the Year in the Mideast Region in each of her final three seasons in Grantham. Following her performance at the 2008 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Amy was named the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Women's Field Athlete of the Year.

At the time of her induction, Reed appears seven times on the Messiah outdoor track and field top-ten lists and holds the program record in the Heptathlon (5111, 2018) and Javelin (New – 152'11", 2007). Amy was also a member of the Messiah women's basketball that finished the 2008 season as the National Runner-Up. In her basketball career, she played in 118 games averaging 6.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

Kai Kasiguran '08 – Men's Soccer
A skilled and dynamic midfielder, Kai Kasiguran was a four-time NCAA All-American in 2004, '05, '06, and '07 who impacted the game on both sides of the ball with his high work-rate and technical abilities. During his senior season, Kasiguran was named the Division III National Player of the Year in 2007.

Kasiguran was a key member of three National Championship teams in 2004, '05, and '06 and was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year during his last three seasons with the Falcons (2005, '06, and '07). With a flair for the dramatic, he scored a total of 37 goals and assisted on 23 others during his career with a total of 14 game-winning goals.

Jono Linebaugh '05 – Men's Lacrosse
One of the biggest offensive threats to ever wear a Messiah jersey, Jono Linebaugh was a two-time NCAA All-American in 2004 and '05. In addition to his All-American accolades, he was named the 2004 and '05 MAC Player of the Year. Jono was a four-time First Team All-MAC selection, earning the honor in each of four years in Grantham and was named the MAC Rookie of the Year during his freshman campaign of 2002.

During his four years in Grantham, the Falcons made the MAC Tournament all four seasons, reaching the conference championship game three-straight times, including winning a conference title in 2004. Jono will enter the Hall of Honor as the men's lacrosse program leader in career points (319) and career assists (156) while ranking second in career goals (163).

Jamie Noble '85 – Women's Basketball
A fierce competitor that would not back down from any challenge on the court, Jamie Noble rewrote the record books of a young women's basketball program during her time with the Falcons. Jamie finished with 1,344 career points, a mark that topped the program record books at the time of her graduation and currently ranks ninth in program history.

In her senior season of 1984-85, Jamie set the program record of points per game in a season by averaging 22.8. Her mark of 570 points that season is tied with Nikki Lobach (2007-08) as the most in a single season for a Falcon. Jamie's entire career was played without the three-point arc, but that did not stop her from taking and making many shots from distance that only ended up as two-pointers.

Joan Chamberlain – Women's Volleyball
Joan Chamberlain was a trailblazer for women's volleyball and women's athletics during her time at Messiah. In 1977, Chamberlain became the first head coach of the women's volleyball team and led the program for the next 19 years, accumulating an overall record of 319-279 and leading the Falcons to their only two berths in the NCAA Tournament, to date, in 1983 and '85.

In addition to her legacy on the sidelines, Chamberlain served on the NCAA women's volleyball regional ranking committee for several years and was a forerunner of women's athletics at Messiah, the eastern conference of the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) and the AIAW (Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women).
