Messiah Earns 2nd seed in MAC Commonwealth

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Men’s Lacrosse) – The Stevenson Mustangs were selected as the favorite in the 2018 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men’s lacrosse coaches. The Mustangs received 64 points and first-place votes from all eight opposing coaches.
 
Messiah collected 53 points to be ranked second, and Widener earned 50 points to rank third. Lebanon Valley received 42 points for fourth, and Albright rounded out the top-5 with 39 points.

The rest of the poll in respective order includes Lycoming (28 points), Arcadia (23 points), Hood (17 points) and Alvernia (8 points).
 
Stevenson defeated Albright, 12-6, to claim the 2017 MAC Commonwealth Championship. The Mustangs went on to the NCAA Division III Championship where they advanced to the second round before falling to RIT on the road. Stevenson topped Nazareth in the opening round at home.
 
Joining Stevenson (1) and Albright (3) at the 2017 conference championship were Messiah (2), Widener (4) and Lebanon Valley (5)
 
The USILA positioned Stevenson No. 16 in its 2018 Coaches’ Preseason Poll.
