Our Developmental Program is designed to introduce young players to new skills and build the foundation of their future soccer careers.

The program's focus is meant to:

1. Create a fun and challenging learning environment, where players can sample a wide range on movement activities in fun and creative environment.

2. Create more opportunity to participate for both children and parents, allowing the chance for more exposure to soccer.

3. Develop basic soccer skills and techniques through a multi-skill approach.

4. Develop speed, power, and endurance using fun games and challenges.

Each season offers two blocks of our 5-week programs. Every weekly session supports development of a different skill, as the club has identified four important basic techniques that each child should learn as they develop their play of "the game" at their age. At the conclusion of the 5-week program, we return to week one and revisit each skill/topic. Although there is repetition of the topics, every session is different, and the specific technique of that session will be cleverly hidden through the use of fun games which grasp your child's attention.

4 Skills are: Dribbling, Turning, Passing and Shooting.

Wayne Soccer Club recognizes the importance of teaching basic skill development and ball familiarity at a young age, and have worked closely with both of our training partners to develop a curriculum to achieve this. Our goal is to create the best learning environment for its young players to learn the techniques allowing them to successfully move into our travel program in the future.

Session format

• Each session has been designed around focusing on one specific topic - Dribbling, Turning, Passing and Shooting. 
• The curriculum has been created by professional child development experts that have extensive experience in designing child centered training programs.
• Each class is delivered by highly enthusiastic and experienced youth soccer coaches.

Program Structure

• Each session typically runs 60 minutes.
  
• This program is part of our Annual Membership Package, which provides an additional 10% off registration.

NOTE new to this year all players must accept the NJYS (New Jersey Youth Soccer) registration to participate in our programs.
