Divisions

T-Ball
Ages 4-6
(As of Sept 1st, 2024)
Designed to be a player's first introduction to baseball. FUNdamentals are emphasized. Safe and fun for all boys and girls. The fundamental rules and structure of the game will be taught. Players will have the opportunity to hit from a tee or from pitches thrown by their Coach without the possibility of striking out.  Players will also have the opportunity to learn fielding positions, how to field and throw a ball to a base, and the concept of “outs” without runners needing to leave the bases if out.
Teams are formed by the league according to school and geography.  Tee Ball teams will practice 1-2 times per week with 1 game per week on Thursdays.

Skills expected for this division: None!

Cost - $60

A - (Minors Coach Pitch)

Ages 7-8 *6
(As of July Sept 1st, 2024)
The next step up – Players are taken to a new level of play. The primary differences from tee ball include: players hitting from coach pitches instead of a tee; players striking out if a ball is not put into play after 6 pitches; and outs being recorded such that runners that are out leave the bases (however, all players will bat once per inning regardless of the number of outs recorded).  Score will not be officially kept and standings will not be posted. Players in this division will continue to develop hitting and fielding skills, including base running, outfield play, better popup catching skills, the introduction of the catcher position, and tagging of runners.  About mid-way through the season, the last inning of each game will be supervised player pitch to provide a glimpse into the next level of play (AA division).

Practices will be determined by the head coach and games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Skills expected to register for this division: the ability to swing at and sometimes make contact with a softly pitched ball; an understanding of base order (e.g., run to first, then second, then third, then home); an understanding of basic fielding (but not necessarily the ability to accurately field a ground ball); the ability to throw a ball generally to another player from about 30 feet away; and the ability to pay attention to and follow directions from a coach (particularly when playing in the infield where balls are hit harder than in tee ball).

Skills not expected to register for this division: consistently making contact with a softly pitched ball; the ability to consistently catch a thrown or hit ball; the ability to consistently field ground balls; and pitching skills.

*6 year olds have the option of playing up at the A level if they’ve played at least 2 seasons in the tee ball division and have demonstrated the ability to play in the A division.  For players 6 years old or younger, we strongly recommend contacting us ([email protected]) to discuss proper placement of your player in tee ball or the A division.  Generally, players 6 years old or younger that have never played baseball before should register to play in the tee ball division.

Cost - $110

AA - (Minors Rookie Player Pitch)

Ages 8-9 *7
(As of Sept 1st, 2024)
The primary differences from coach pitch to the AA division include: scoring of runs and the concept of winning; addition of the 3-out rule (after 3 outs, the half-inning is over even if all players have not batted); players hitting from balls pitched by opposing players (and your player’s coach when a walk is issued by an opposing player); less limitations on runners advancing on the base paths; and longer games.  If a player pitcher throws 4 balls, the coach will then throw 3 pitches to encourage hitting.  Official score for each game will be kept.  Players in this division will be introduced to the concept of balls and strikes and continue developing proper hitting technique.  In the field, players will develop the ability to throw more accurately and from a greater distance than in the A division, as well as further developing the ability to catch hit and/or thrown balls.  The importance of pitching is also demonstrated in this division, with coaching focused on introducing pitching technique.

Practices will be determined by the head coach and games will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Skills expected to register for this division: the ability to throw a ball 46 ft and catch a thrown ball consistently; the ability to field and throw a ball to first base consistently; the ability to hit a pitched ball; and the ability to maintain attention on a hitter when in the field with minimal or no reminders from coaches.

Skills not expected to register for this division: consistent ability to throw strikes as a pitcher; base stealing; prior experience differentiating between balls and strikes while batting; and the ability to throw a ball across the infield accurately.
Cost - $120
 * 7 year olds have the option of playing up at the AA level if they've played at least 2 seasons in the A division and have demonstrated the ability to play in the AA division (please contact us for more information).  9 year old AAA players not selected in the draft will be moved to AA.  For players 7 years old or younger, we strongly recommend contacting us ([email protected]) to discuss proper placement of your player in the A or AA division.
