April's Monthly Meeting

EGSL April Monthly Meeting


The meeting was called to order at 7:44pm, accepted by Juan, seconded by Ken.

The secretary’s report was prepared and read by Coleen, accepted by Paula, seconded by Joe.

The treasurer’s report was prepared and read by Laurie, accepted by Kim, seconded by Katie.


President’s Business: A huge heartfelt thank you from Tammy to all that have helped with getting the 49th season off and running, Laurie getting balloons and all who helped with the setup of the informational meeting, the field clean up crew, to Joe, Chris and Darren for working hard to get the batting cage useable, and the coaches who attended the draft while working with the Basketball schedule of games.

Wait list: At this time, 2 girls on list in middle division, and Seniors have 2 as well, we will be pulling from that list for an opening on one of the senior teams.

Fundraisers: Pampered Chef, Kim Guenette came to the Info Meeting to discuss our first fundraiser to run in April, all players and coaches received a catalog and access to the website. This is a great opportunity to get cooking supplies for your family or gifts.

A Gift a Day for the Month of May is in the works for the girls to sell 2 raffle cards with the chance to win a gift a day. Lots of great gifts to win.

New League Members: At last night's meeting two former players were voted in as league members, welcome new members.

Team Business:With practices beginning and games right around the corner, its time to remind all coaches and their staff of a few things, by law change voted in allowing no new inning after 80 minutes, all girls need to remove jewelry or cover it with a band aid if not able to remove, helmets and chest protectors used during practices, background checks completed, lock up the carnex and shed, and if keys are needed for these items please let Tammy know.
Community Donations to CCAP: A week long event in May, donations to our local CCAP to help our community. We will be collecting personal hygiene product, babies supplies and non perishible food.

OPENING DAY, 4/ 27/19 Pictures; 8:40 Tee ball, 9:00 Angels & Tigers, 9:20 Panthers & Dolls, 9:40 Red Devils & Alley Cats, 10 Black Jacks & Eaglettes, 10:20 Elks & Gold

Skills Competition: All coaches were handed out the Skills Competition list, remember all players must have an activity to perform, no player should be doing more than one specialty activity.

Concession Stand: Lots of help needed on opening day, please ask a parent or one of your staff to help out, even for a half hour, this is biggest and busiest days, if we all pitch in it will be running smooth for the players and their families.

All Star Formats:Juniors 8 girls chosen, 4 each from each team will be on a side, Middles 8 girls each, the 3rd place team will be split with 4 each on each side, Seniors 6 girls each team, 1st & 4th place play against 2nd & 3rd place.

Play Off Format: Juniors & Middles- Round Robin, double elimination, Seniors Team 1 vs Team 4, Team 2 vs Team 3,
