EGSL February Monthly Meeting Minutes 2/6/18
The meeting was called to order at 7:25, accepted by Tammy, seconded by Katie.
Secretary’s report was prepared and read by Coleen, accepted by Deb, seconded by Chris.
Treasurer’s report was prepared and read by Laurie, accepted by Juan, seconded by Ken W.
President’s Business:
Tonight we had a presentation by O’Connor Studios, they presented the board and meeting attendees information for photos on Opening Day. This company has a family member currently in the league.
Rick reminded all that this was his last season as El Presidente. We need new members of our league. Families and friends of players are encouraged to attend meetings, help a team and join our league. Rick would be happy to talk to anyone about the responsibilities of the President. Also two long time coaches, Vickie Bugbee and Deb Davies will be retiring after the 2018 season, those teams will need new coaches.
League Rules: Changes are in the process of being updated.
Road Signs: If you would like to have EGSL sign for your front lawn, please let Laurie know and she will get them to you. She will be at PV on Saturday, 12-4, you can pick them up there.
Info table: At Shaws Lakewood, Saturday, February 10 from 9-12. This is a chance to get our name out there and let families know our league is in their neighborhood.
Last In Person Registration: Saturday 2/10 from 12-4, online registration is still open. There is a discount for any returning player who brings a new player, a $20 discount for both girls.
Coaches: all teams were given their roster will last years players, please make all efforts available to contact your players to sign up. If any problems reaching girls, contact Tammy.
Important Dates:
March 6- Monthly meeting, this month is to begin at 6:30, we will begin our meeting with teams choosing practice times. All teams have to have representative at the meeting. Remember practices cannot begin until 4/1, which is Easter Sunday. All practices have to be held at PV field.
March 11- Try outs at PV, 12pm Seniors, 2pm Middles, 4pm Juniors, 5-6 pm is open tryouts for anyone who cannot make their time.
March 18- Draft held at Coleen Sivo’s house, 2pm Seniors, 2:30 Middles, 3pm Juniors
March 21- Info meeting 6:30 pm at PV auditorium, Coaches please try to arrive at 6pm.
June 2- Golf Tournament @ 1:30 at Triggs Golf Course
Fundraising- We are in need of suggestions for a fundraiser , any ideas come see a board member.
Pitching Clinic- hoping to get this going for upcoming season, at Canning Hall. More info to follow.
Community weekend- 5/11-5/13 Deb Davies will meeting with CCAP this week. We will be putting together a community drive for members of the Cranston community. Any girls in need of community service is encouraged to assist Deb.
