Coaching Requirements



Want to be an EAA Coach for tackle football?

Thank you for considering being a youth football coach for EAA Jr. Storm and Jr. Antlers. Please follow the steps below to begin the process and a board member will touch base with you as soon as possible.

1.     Create an EAA account: Register Here

2.     Complete a Background check (required for every coach involved with EAA required each year.

3.      Create USA Football Account OR Renew existing account www.USAFootball.com

a.       When you register/renew your Coaching membership, enter the EAA Promo code to be automatically affiliated with EAA Jr. Storm or Jr. Antler program 2017 CODE TBD

b.      If you already have a membership, be sure your membership ACCOUNT PROFILE is affiliated with the organization: "Elkhorn Athletic Association".

c.       Note: Concussion Training is now included within Level 1, so the CDC course is no longer required.

4.      Complete USA Football LEVEL 1 Tackle Certification.

a.       New or Re-Certification is required to be taken EACH YEAR. At the time of enrollment, use the correct promo code: 2017 CODE TBD. If you have trouble getting the promo code to work, please call: USAFootball member support at 1-877-536-6822. Be sure to complete this training as soon as possible. Any coach who has not completed this certification prior to the first day of practice, cannot coach players, or participate in drills. This training is mandated by our agreement with USAFootball and the Metro Youth Football League. (MYFL) Be sure to print out and keep the certificate when finished and keep for your records.

 5.       Attend the USAFootball HeadsUp Tackling Clinic (Mandatory All Coaches).

a.       This is a 2 hour interactive instructor led clinic to demonstrate the Heads Up Tackling methods and instruction keys. Coaches need to attend one of these sessions offered regardless of school branch affiliation.

6.       Attend EAA Coaches meeting (Head Coaches only)

a.       This is the season informational kickoff meeting to review key season dates, new league rules and overall expectations. All teams must be represented. If the Head Coach cannot attend, then their TOP Assistant Coach must attend in his place.
