RON WOITALEWICZ
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH


Coach Woj is beginning his 28th season at Dakota Ridge and his 23rd as the Head Varsity Coach, where he boasts a record of 152-90. Under his leadership, Dakota squads have made 14 playoff appearances, boast a 15-14 post-season record, and have appeared in five State semi-final games (2004, 2008, 2010, 2019, and 2020). In 2004, Woj led the Eagles to the CHSAA State Championship game. Before taking the helm of the program in 2001, Woj assisted with the opening and launch of Dakota Ridge High School and Eagles Football in 1996.  Coach Woj served as Offensive Coordinator from 1996-2001.

In addition to being named DRHS Male Coach of the Year six times (2004, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2019, 2020), Coach Woj was named Jeffco 4A Male Coach of the Year in 2019, and was one of 25 coaches selected to win the national Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach Award in 2013.  A 2014 Denver Broncos Coach of the Week, Woj was also named Jeffco Coach of the Year after league championships in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2021.

Coach Woj attended Northglenn High School, and received a BA in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado in addition to a Masters in Educational Administration from The University of Phoenix.  Prior to his arrival at Dakota Ridge, he helped lead Northglenn HS to a 1984 State Championship as Running Backs Coach, and also served as Head Coach at Alameda HS and Offensive Coordinator at Arvada HS and Pomona HS.

Coach Woj and his wife Lisa and have four daughters (Erika, Sarah, Jessica and Kayla), three sons-in-laws (Mark, Derek, and Keeler) and nine grandchildren (Dillon, Brayden (Eagles class of 2024), Dominic, Emberly, Tabor, Logan, Cassius, Elliott and Nollie).   

 

JEREMIAH BEHRENDSEN
OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/QB COACH/ASSISTANT HEAD COACH

Jeremiah Behrendsen is beginning his 20th season at Dakota Ridge and his 14th as the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterback Coach.  Coach Behrensen also serves as the Assistant Head Coach.  Coach B is considered one of the best and brightest offensive coaches in the state, and over the last 12 seasons he has led some very explosive offenses.  He coaches a no huddle, up-tempo spread offense which focuses on both a strong run game and controlled pass game. In 2014, Behrendsen was named the Jeffco Male Assistant Coach of the Year, and in 2021 he received the DRHS Male Assistant Coach of the year at Dakota Ridge award.  Coach Behrendsen began his coaching career in 2004, serving as the Offensive Coordinator for the Dakota Ridge freshman team while also student teaching at Dakota.  In 2005, he was promoted to Running Backs Coach and Head JV Coach, and led the Eagles JV squad to perfect 10-0 season in 2006.  Behrendsen graduated from Akron High School where he earned All-State honors as a quarterback for the Rams.

Coach B is very active in the Dakota Ridge community. In addition to a role on the board of the Dakota Ridge Sports Association, he coaches his youngest son’s baseball team in the spring and summer. He received a BS in Math from the University of Northern Colorado and has a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from The University of Phoenix. He is currently teaching math and physical education at Dakota Ridge.  Behrendsen and his wife Shannon have two boys - Kellen (Eagles class of 2026) and Kasen.

CHRIS FLYNT
WIDE RECEIVERS/JV OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

2023 marks Coach Chris Flynt's 12th season as the Eagles Wide Receivers Coach and JV Offensive Coordinator. His influence in 2010 helped former Eagle Derek Vander Velde develop into an All-Colorado receiver. Coach Flynt is also in charge of video technology and Hudl.  A 1998 Dakota Ridge graduate, Flynt attended Metropolitan State University and is currently a Lieutenant in the Denver Fire Department. The brother-in-law of Assistant Head Coach Jeremiah Behrendsen, Coach Flynt and his wife Jenna are the parents of son Landry. 

 

PAUL SHEEHY
DEFENSIVE LINE AND SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR

For the past seven seasons, Dakota Ridge special teams units have excelled under Coach Sheehy’s direction. The Eagles Defensive Line Coach and Special Teams Coordinator, Sheehy is also a long-time youth coach in the South Jeffco area. He serves as President of South Jeffco Sports Association and assisted in the development  of the Colorado Youth Sports Concussion Law. An attorney, Sheehy is also the founder and president of ProStar Sports Agency, which represents players in the NFL and coaches in both the NFL and NCAA. With more than 30 years experience with the NFL and NFL player contracts, Sheehy was named vice-chair of the Colorado Bar Association Sports and Entertainment section in 2022. 

Coach Sheehy received an MBA prior to earning his law degree, and attended the prestigious Harvard Negotiating Institute at Harvard Law School. He graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts. Sheehy and his wife Sheila have two sons, Jeremy and Sean.

 

TIERRE DURAN
DEFENSIVE BACKS AND HEAD JV COACH

In the past 20 years, Defensive Backs Coach Tierre Duran has coached a secondary that is arguably one of the best in CHSAA football. In 2022, three members of the Eagles secondary earned All-Conference honors, with 2023 grad Brandon Miller appearing in the CHSCA All-State game. Duran also helped former Eagles Charlie Offerdahl and Dante Capolungo to league MVP honors (both are now playing at the University of Colorado).  Tierre was an All-State football and baseball player at Pueblo Centennial High School and attended Colorado School of Mines before transferring to The University of Northern Colorado and earning his BS in Math.  Coach Duran teaches math at Dakota Ridge High School and is also the Head JV Coach for the Eagles. He is married to Lindsey.

 

JARED SCHULZ
RUNNING BACKS

2023 marks Coach Jared Schulz’ 19th season at Dakota Ridge - his sixth as the Eagles Running Backs Coach.  Prior to being promoted to the varsity staff, Schulz served as an Assistant and then Head Freshman Coach. In 2008 he led his freshman squad to a 9-1 record. 

Coach Schulz graduated from Highlands Ranch HS and received a BS in Math from CU Boulder before completing a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. Schulz teaches math at Dakota Ridge and is the Math Department Manager. He and his wife Aspin have three children - Carth, Kabe and Syla.

 

ERIC NEYEN 
INSIDE LINEBACKERS

2023 marks Coach Eric Neyen’s 14th season at Dakota Ridge and his seventh as the Inside Linebackers Coach. In 2022, Coach Neyen helped Eagles Brayden Cusick and Connor Swanson to First Team All-Conference honors at linebacker. Neyen served as the freshman team’s Defensive Coordinator for seven years before making his move to varsity. He coached several years of youth football with South Jeffco Sports Association.

Neyen teaches math at Summit Ridge Middle School, and holds degrees from Oklahoma State University (BA), University of Colorado, and the University of Phoenix (Masters). Prior to becoming a teacher, Coach Neyen served as President and CEO of a technology company.  He and his wife Traci are the parents of two Dakota Ridge graduates - Connor and Kirsten.

 

MARK LEON
SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE HEAD COACH

Mark Leon is in his tenth season at Dakota Ridge and his third as Assistant Quarterbacks Coach. A graduate of Dakota Ridge High School, Mark was a manager and inspirational leader for both the football and basketball programs. Mark brings fire and attitude to the Dakota Ridge staff, and players respond well to his attention to detail. Mark has Down Syndrome and is an inspiration to all the members of the Dakota Ridge football family, school and community. In 2014, he was awarded the Jeffco My Hero Award and scholarship. Mark graduated from Arapahoe Community College in 2022 and is currently working in the Athletic Department at Metropolitan State University.

 

JOHN OFFERDAHL
DEFENSIVE BACKS

In his seventh season with Dakota Ridge, Defensive Backs Coach John Offerdahl (Doc) coaches returners on the Eagles special team units. Prior his arrival at Dakota Ridge, Doc coached sons Charlie and Jack in youth football. Coach Doc grew up playing football, basketball and baseball in the Seattle area, and received a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Washington. After graduation from Washington, Offerdahl earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Washington University School of Dental. He recently retired as a valuable and respected dentist in the community. 

In addition to Charlie and Jack, Doc and his wife Christee have a daughter (Jordan). Former Dakota Ridge standout Charlie was twice named First Team All-State and Jefferson County Player of the Year, and is currently playing football for Coach Prime at CU Boulder. Jack (class of 2026) plays free safety for the Eagles defense and will be return specialist on both punt and kickoff teams. 

 

KYLE DEROSIER
OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS

Outside Linebackers Coach Kyle DeRosier joined Dakota Ridge in 2021. DeRosier has coached various youth and high school football teams, and also serves as Assistant Coach for the Eagles 2023 CHSAA Final Four Lacrosse team. Coach DeRosier is married to Jamie and works in the construction industry.

 

SCOTT CAVALLARO
WIDE RECEIVERS AND ASSISTANT SPECIAL TEAMS

A former 11-year youth football coach, Scott Cavallaro made the move to Dakota Ridge six seasons ago. Coach Cav serves as the Assistant Wide Receivers and Special Teams Coach. He received his BA in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Northern Colorado in 1988. A recent retiree, Coach Cav enjoys golf and also spends time working for Jeffco Schools at district stadiums.  He and his wife Stephanie are the parents of three Dakota Ridge graduates - Jack, Joey and Addie.

 

JOE CHRISTENSEN
ASSISTANT WIDE RECEIVERS

2023 marks Joe Christensen’s first season on the Dakota Ridge coaching staff. Coach Christensen will assist with Eagles wide receivers and special teams. Christensen has been coaching youth football since 2011, and in addition to service on the Dakota Ridge Sports Association board, he currently serves as the DRSA Director of Youth Football.

After 12 years in sales, Coach Christensen will transition to a teaching career this fall. He graduated from Regis HS in Wisconsin and played two years of football at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Prior to moving to Colorado he coached at his alma mater Regis HS. Christensen will have two freshmen at Dakota Ridge this fall.

 

JORDAN POLLACK
OFFENSIVE LINE

Coach Jordan Pollack stepped into his role as Offensive Line Coach for the Eagles in 2023. A transplant from Lincoln, NE, Coach Polack brings extensive Midwest football experience to the Dakota Ridge staff. Pollack was a two-year starter on both offensive and defensive lines at Lincoln Southwest HS, and played collegially for Nebraska Wesleyan University before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A Criminal Justice major at UNL, Pollack now works for Jeffco Schools in the Department of School Safety.  Jordan and his finance Liesl will marry this fall.

 

IZAAK MCWILLIAMS
ASSISTANT OFFENSIVE LINE

Assistant Offensive Line Coach Izaak McWilliams joined the Dakota Ridge staff in 2022. A former standout player for the Eagles, McWilliams was a team captain and a Second Team All-State lineman for the 2019 semi-finals team. After two-years of academics and football at Bethel College in Minnesota, McWilliams made the decision to return home to begin coaching while pursuing EMT training and a career in firefighting.

 

JOHNATHAN MILLER
HEAD FRESHMAN COACH

2023 marks Coach Jonathan Miller’s first season with Dakota Ridge. Miller will serve as the Head Coach for the Eagles Freshman team. After graduation from New Mexico’s Rio Rancho HS, Coach Miller played football at Concordia University in Nebraska. Miller left Concordia to finish his education at Metro State. Coach Miller is employed by Fellowship of Christian Athletes, an organization which allows him the opportunity to help athletes strengthen their faith as Christians. Miller and his wife Emma were married in August of 2022 – the two  enjoy spending time with their dog and hiking and camping throughout Colorado. 

 

KYLE SCOFIELD
FRESHMAN DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR

2023 marks Coach Kyle Scofield's second season with Dakota Ridge. An Eagle Football alumni and 2018 DRHS grad, Coach Sco serves as Defensive Coordinator for the freshman team.  Scofield played cornerback at the University of Colorado for two years before graduating with a BA in Astronomy. 

 

DAK RIECKE
ASSISTANT FRESHMAN COACH

Coach Dak Riecke joined the Eagles football staff in 2021, stepping in as the freshman team Assistant Coach. As coach of the team’s offensive and defensive lines, Riecke adds a wealth of knowledge to the line.

Coach Riecke is also the Head Coach for Dakota Ridge Men’s Lacrosse. In 2023, He the Eagles to the CHSAA State Final Four, and was voted DRHS Male Head Coach of the Year in 2021. 

 

DILLON MEYERS – INSIDE LINEBACKERS

A Dakota Ridge graduate and a two-time First Team All-Conference Linebacker for the Eagles, Coach Dillon Meyers joined the coaching staff in 2022. Meyers brings his experience as a Jeffco Defensive Player of the Year and CHSCA All-State game selection to the Eagles, where he will assist with inside linebackers. 

Meyers is currently working for Jeffco Schools in Land Maintenance, and will soon earn a BS in Sports Management from Colorado Mesa University.  Coach Meyers is the oldest grandson of Coach Woj and the brother of senior linebacker Brayden Cusick.
