JEREMIAH BEHRENDSEN
HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
2024 marks Jeremiah Behrendsen's 21st season at Dakota Ridge and his first as Head Coach. Prior to assuming the reins of the program, Coach B served 14 years as the Eagle’s Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback Coach. Coach B has led some very explosive offenses in his time at Dakota Ridge. He coaches a no huddle, up-tempo spread offense which focuses on both a strong run game and controlled pass game. Coach Behrendsen has been named the Assistant Coach of the Year for Dakota Ridge High School 5 times and in 2014, Coach Behrendsen was named the Jeffco Public Schools Male Assistant Coach of the Year.
Coach Behrendsen began his football coaching career in 2004, serving as the Offensive Coordinator for the Dakota Ridge freshman team helping them reach an 8-2 record. In 2005, he was promoted to Running Backs Coach and Head JV Coach where they won 84% of their games over a 5 year period, including a perfect 10-0 season in 2006. As the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator he posted a record of 104-51. Behrendsen graduated from Akron High School where he earned multiple All-Conference and All-State honors across 4 sports/activities for the Rams.
Coach B is very active in the Dakota Ridge community. In addition to a role on the Board of Directors of the Dakota Ridge Sports Association, he coaches his youngest son’s baseball team in the spring and summer. He received a BS in Math from the University of Northern Colorado and has a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is currently teaching math and physical education at Dakota Ridge. Jeremiah and his amazing wife Shannon have two boys - Kellen (DRHS Eagles class of 2026) and Kasen (6th Grade).
PAUL SHEEHY
ASSISTANT HEAD COACH & DEFENSIVE LINE COACH
The Eagles' Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Line Coach, Sheehy enters his tenth season on staff. An attorney, Sheehy is the founder and president of ProStar Sports Agency, which represents players in the NFL and coaches in both the NFL and NCAA, with more than 30 years of experience with the NFL and NFL player contracts. He serves as the chair of the Colorado Bar Association Sports and Entertainment Law section, and is also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Colorado Law School, teaching Sports Law.
Coach Sheehy received an MBA prior to earning his law degree, and also attended the prestigious Harvard Negotiating Institute at Harvard Law School. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Springfield College in Massachusetts where he played football for all four years. TIERRE DURAN
DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Coach Duran is starting his first season as the Eagle’s Defensive Coordinator. Tierre has experience coaching linebackers and defensive backs at the DRHS varsity level while also serving as the Head JV Coach for a number of years. Tierre was an All-State football and baseball player at Pueblo Centennial High School and attended Colorado School of Mines before transferring to The University of Northern Colorado and earning his BS in Math. Coach Duran teaches math at Dakota Ridge High School and he is married to Lindsey.
JARED SCHULZ
SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR, RUNNING BACKS, HEAD JV COACH
2024 marks Coach Jared Schulz’ 20th season at Dakota Ridge - his seventh as the Eagles Running Backs Coach and his first as the Head JV Coach and Varsity Special Teams Coordinator. Prior to being promoted to the varsity staff, Schulz served as an Assistant and then Head Freshman Coach. In 2008 he led his freshman squad to a 9-1 record.
Coach Schulz graduated from Highlands Ranch HS and received a BS in Math from CU Boulder before completing a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. Schulz teaches math at Dakota Ridge and is the Math Department Manager. He has three children - Carth, Kabe and Syla.
CHRIS FLYNT
WIDE RECEIVERS, JV OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
2024 marks Coach Chris Flynt's 15th season as the Eagles' Wide Receivers Coach. He also serves as the JV Offensive Coordinator. His influence in 2010 helped former Eagle Derek VanderVelde develop into an All-Colorado receiver. Coach Flynt is also in charge of video technology and Hudl. A 1998 Dakota Ridge graduate, Flynt attended Metropolitan State University and is currently a Lieutenant in the Denver Fire Department. Coach Flynt and his wife Jenna are the parents of son Landry.
SCOTT CAVALLARO
WIDE RECEIVERS AND ASSISTANT SPECIAL TEAMS
A former 11-year youth football coach, Scott Cavallaro made the move to Dakota Ridge almost 10 years ago. Coach Cav serves as an Assistant Wide Receivers and Special Teams Coach. He received his BA in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Northern Colorado in 1988. A recent retiree, Coach Cav enjoys golf and also spends time working for Jeffco Schools at district stadiums. He and his wife Stephanie are the parents of three Dakota Ridge graduates - Jack, Joey and Addie.
JOE CHRISTENSEN
WIDE RECEIVERS
2024 marks Joe Christensen’s second season on the Dakota Ridge coaching staff. Coach Christensen has been coaching youth football since 2011, and in addition to service on the Dakota Ridge Sports Association board, he currently serves as a DRSA Director of Youth Football.
Coach Christensen graduated from Regis HS in Wisconsin and played two years of football at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Prior to moving to Colorado he coached at his alma mater Regis HS for 5 years before moving to Colorado. Coach Christensen is the father of two Dakota Ridge students (class of 2027). “Create your future with your future, not your past.”
KYLE DEROSIER
OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS
Inside Linebackers Coach Kyle DeRosier joined Dakota Ridge in 2021. DeRosier has coached various youth and high school football teams, and also serves as Assistant Coach for the Eagles men’s Lacrosse team. Coach DeRosier is married to his wife Jamie and works in the construction industry as a project engineer for a company outside of Denver.
MARK LEON
SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE HEAD COACH
Mark Leon has been a member of the DRHS staff for over 10 years and is now assisting with special teams.. A graduate of Dakota Ridge High School, Mark was a manager and inspirational leader for both the football and basketball programs. Mark brings fire and attitude to the Dakota Ridge staff, and players respond well to his attention to detail. Mark has Down Syndrome and is an inspiration to all the members of the Dakota Ridge football family, school and community. In 2014, he was awarded the Jeffco My Hero Award and scholarship. Mark graduated from Arapahoe Community College in 2022 and is currently working in the Athletic Department at Metropolitan State University
AARON LEWIS
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Aaron is a former Dakota Ridge football player who played on the defensive line and continued to pursue football throughout college. He graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. After graduating in 2020 he became a strength and conditioning coach working with high school, youth and college athletes. Aaron works with athletes of all sports, especially football, where he has helped multiple kids continue their football careers at D1 schools such as Temple University, New Mexico, and more. He looks to help kids get to that next level of their sport.
IZAAK MCWILLIAMS
OFFENSIVE LINE
Offensive Line Coach Izaak McWilliams joined the Dakota Ridge staff in 2022. A former standout player for the Eagles, McWilliams was a team captain and a Second Team All-State lineman for the 2019 semi-finals team. After two-years of academics and football at Bethel College in Minnesota, McWilliams made the decision to return home to begin coaching while pursuing EMT training and a career in firefighting.
JOHN OFFERDAHL
DEFENSIVE BACKS
A part of the Dakota Ridge staff for almost a decade, John Offerdahl (Doc) coaches the Eagles Defensive Backs. Prior his arrival at Dakota Ridge, Doc coached sons Charlie and Jack in youth football. Coach Doc grew up playing football, basketball and baseball in the Seattle area, and received a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Washington. After graduation from Washington, Offerdahl earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Washington University School of Dental. He recently retired as a valuable and respected dentist in the community.
In addition to Charlie and Jack, Doc and his wife Christee have a daughter (Jordan). Former Dakota Ridge standout Charlie was twice named First Team All-State and Jefferson County Player of the Year, and is currently playing football for Coach Prime at CU Boulder. Jack (class of 2026) plays Free Safety for the Eagles defense and will be a return specialist on both punt and kickoff teams.
JORDAN POLLACK
OFFENSIVE LINE
Coach Jordan Pollack stepped into his role as Offensive Line Coach for the Eagles in 2023. A transplant from Lincoln, NE, Coach Polack brings extensive Midwest football experience to the Dakota Ridge staff. Pollack was a two-year starter on both offensive and defensive lines at Lincoln Southwest HS, and played collegially for Nebraska Wesleyan University before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A Criminal Justice major at UNL, Pollack now works for Jeffco Schools in the Department of School Safety. Jordan and his wife Liesl got married in 2023.
DAK RIECKE
ASSISTANT FRESHMAN COACH
Coach Dak Riecke joined the Eagles football staff in 2021. As coach of the freshman team’s offensive and defensive lines, Riecke adds a wealth of knowledge to the line. Coach Riecke is also the Head Coach for Dakota Ridge Men’s Lacrosse. In 2023, He led the Eagles to the CHSAA State Final Four, and was voted DRHS Male Head Coach of the Year in 2021.
KYLE SCOFIELD
FRESHMAN HEAD COACH
2024 marks Coach Kyle Scofield's third season with Dakota Ridge and his first as the Head Freshman Coach. An Eagle Football alumni and 2018 DRHS grad, Coach Sco served previously as Defensive Coordinator for the freshman team, before taking the helm for the team in 2024. Scofield played cornerback at the University of Colorado for two years before graduating with a BA in Astronomy.
ROBERT SMITH
FRESHMAN ASSISTANT COACH
After spending seven years coaching at the Junior’s level as an assistant OL/DL and Special teams coach, Coach Robert Smith joins the Dakota Ridge coaching staff at the Freshman level. Coach Smith will take the Offense, Special teams, QB’s and Running Backs. Coach Smith played two years at Western State College of Colorado before graduating with a BA in Business Administration..
JEFF HINES
OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS AND JV DEFENSIVE COORDINTAOR
Coach Jeff Hines returns to the Eagles after having to take off the last few years. Coach Hines coached the Defensive Line in his previous stint with the Eagles and will be coaching the OLB’s while also handling the defensive play calling duties for the JV team.
Coach Hines brings a lifetime of experience and passion for football that all started when he was young with his dad being a college football official. Coach then started at Center for Mesa Mountain View High School in Arizona where he earned All-Conference and State honors. After graduating High School he then attended Northern Arizona University where he graduated with a degree in Criminology while also being a 4 year starter on the Football team at center.
Hines is a Produce Broker who lives in downtown Denver with his girlfriend Kim. He is beyond excited to be back with the Eagles to help the student athletes leave a legacy in the classroom and on the field.
