RON WOITALEWICZ (WOJ) – HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

 

Coach Woj is beginning his 27th season at Dakota Ridge and his 22nd as the Head Varsity Coach.  Coach Woj has a record of 146-84 as the Head Coach at Dakota Ridge. He was lucky enough to win his 100th game defeating Lincoln in 2015.  During his tenure, he has led the Eagles to the State Playoffs 13 times with a record of 14-13 and five appearances in the State Semifinals (2004, 2008, 2010, 2019 and 2020) and leading the Eagles to their only appearance in the State Championship game in 2004 losing to Thunder Ridge.  Prior to becoming the Head Coach in 2001, Coach Woj helped open the school and start the football program at Dakota Ridge in 1996.  The first five seasons he was the Offensive Coordinator before taking over in 2001.  He has been selected the Male Coach of the Year at Dakota Ridge in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2019 and 2020. In 2019 Coach Woj was voted the Jefferson County 4A Male Head Coach of the Year for the district.  Coach Woj was 1 of 25 National Winners out of 1,700 to win the Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach Award in 2013.  He was honored at a ceremony at Stanford University in April of 2013. In 2014, Woj was selected as the Denver Broncos Coach of Week honoree after week 10.  In 2015, 2018,2020 and 2021 Woj was named the Jeffco League Coach of the Year while leading the Eagles to a League Championship. Coach Woj attended Northglenn High School and received a BA degree in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado.  He also has a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix.  He currently teaches Physical Education at Dakota Ridge and has also taught American History, American Government, and Geography at Dakota Ridge.  Prior to coming to help start the football program at Dakota Ridge, Coach Woj was the Running Back coach at Northglenn High School where he was a member of the coaching staff who helped Northglenn win the State Championship in 1984.  He has also been the Head Coach at Alameda High School and the Offensive Coordinator at Arvada High School, Pomona High School and at Dakota Ridge the first 5 years.  He is married to Lisa and they have four beautiful daughters:  Erika, Sarah, Jessie and Kayla.  They also have 3 Son-In-Laws:  Mark, Derek, and Keeler.  Woj and Lisa also are the proud grandparents to 9 grandchildren Dillon, , Dominic, Emberly, Tabor, Logan, Cassius, Elliott, and Nollie.  Coach Woj believes this team has the ability to carry on the great tradition of Dakota Ridge Football and make a run at a league championship and state title. 

 

JEREMIAH BEHRENDSEN – OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/ASSISTANT HEAD COACH

 

Jeremiah Behrendsen is beginning his 19th season at Dakota Ridge and 13th as the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterback Coach.  Coach Behrendsen also serves as the Assistant Head Coach.  Over the last 11 seasons Coach Behrendsen has led some very explosive offenses.  He coaches a no huddle hurry up spread offensive attack that gives opposing defenses fits defending.  Jeremiah was selected as the Jeffco Male Assistant Coach of the year in 2014.  This award was given out of all the Jeffco high school athletic programs.  Coach Behrendsen was voted as the Dakota Ridge Assistant Coach of the year in 2021 for his hard work and dedication to the football program. Coach Behrendsen began his coaching career at Dakota Ridge in 2004 as the Offensive Coordinator for the freshman team while he was doing his student teaching at Dakota Ridge.  During the 2005 season he was promoted to Running Back Coach and Head JV Coach.  Jeremiah led the Eagles JV to a school best ever 10-0 record in 2006.  Coach Behrendsen graduated from Akron High School where he earned All State Honors as a quarterback for the Rams. Coach Behrendsen is also a very active member for the Dakota Ridge Sports Association serving as a baseball director. He is also coaches his son’s baseball teams in the summer. He received a BS in Math from the University of Northern Colorado and has a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.  He currently teaches math at Dakota Ridge.  He is married to the lovely Shannon and they have two sons Kellen (14) and Kasen (9).

 

 

MATT OSTERHAUS – OFFENSIVE LINE

 

Matt Osterhaus is beginning his 19th season as the Offensive Line Coach at Dakota Ridge.  Coach Osterhaus is a graduate of Dakota Ridge and is a former First Team All Conference Lineman during his time as an Eagle.  Coach Osterhaus was a three- year starter for the Eagles and is considered one of the best linemen to ever play at Dakota Ridge.  He has coached many All State and All Conference lineman during his tenure. He coached Wyoming freshman All American Keegan Cryder in high school. He played college football at Adams State College.  Coach Osterhaus is currently works as an Engagement officer for the district trying to help students get on track in school. Coach Osterhaus was voted the 2019 Jefferson County 4A Male Assistant Coach of the year for the district.  He is married to Amber and they have four kids Kaidyn , Kailyn, Peyton and John Henry.

 

CHRIS FLYNT – WIDE RECEIVERS

 

Chris Flynt is beginning his 11th season as the Wide Receiver coach for the Eagles.  Coach Flynt is also in charge of all video technology and running the football hudl account.  He was a big part of Derek Vander Velde becoming an All Colorado receiver in 2010.  Chris graduated from Dakota Ridge in 1998.  He attended Metro State College and is currently a firefighter for Denver Fire Department having just been promoted to Lieutenant.  He is the brother-in-law of Jeremiah Behrendsen.  Chris is married to Jenna and they have a son Landry.

 

PAUL SHEEHY – DEFENSIVE LINE/SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR

 

Paul Sheehy is beginning his 7th season as Defensive Line Coach and Special Teams Coordinator for the Eagles.  A longtime youth coach in the South Jeffco area, he has served as an advisor to several youth football organizations, including serving as President of South Jeffco Sports Association, and he was part of the Colorado Youth Sports Concussion Special Interest Group and helped draft the Jake Snakenberg Act, Colorado’s Youth Sports Concussion Law.   He is an attorney admitted to practice in Colorado and California, and founder and President of ProStar Sports Agency, which represents NFL players along with NFL and NCAA coaches.  In 2022 he was named vice-chair of the Colorado Bar Association Sports & Entertainment Section.  Paul has been certified by the NFL Players Association since 1988, and is one of a very small and elite group of NFL agents who have 30 years or more of NFL experience and has negotiated hundreds of NFL Player Contracts, and dozens of NFL injury settlements, grievances, and NFL fine appeals, and handles any legal or contractual issue which arise throughout an NFL client's career.  Prior to earning his law degree, Paul earned an MBA degree, and he has attended the prestigious Harvard Negotiating Institute at Harvard Law School. He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business teaching a sports law/contracts class for nearly a decade, has served as an expert witness on behalf of players and coaches in various litigation proceedings, has appeared numerous times on television and radio offering insight on NFL topics, and has published numerous articles relating to the business and economics of professional football.   He played 4 years of college football at then D2 Springfield College in Massachusetts.  

 

Paul and his wife, Sheila have 2 sons, Jeremy and Sean.  The family resides in Littleton.


TIERRE DURAN – DEFENSIVE BACKS/JV HEAD COACH

 

Tierre Duran begins his 20th season as the varsity Defensive Back coach at Dakota Ridge and will also serve as the Head Coach for the JV team this season.  Coach Duran has turned his secondary unit into one of the best in the state and this year should be no different. Last season Coach T has 2 members of the secondary named All Conference and helped Charlie Offerdahl to a First Team All-State honor as a defensive back.  Tierre was an All State football and baseball player at Pueblo Centennial High School and attended the Colorado School of Mines before transferring and receiving a BS in Math from the University of Northern Colorado.  Coach Duran teaches math at Dakota Ridge and he is married to Lindsey.


JARED SCHULZ – RUNNING BACKS

 

Jared Schulz is beginning his 18th season at Dakota Ridge and his fifth season as the Running Backs Coach for the Eagles.  Prior to joining the varsity staff this fall Jared was an assistant coach for the freshman in 2005 and then accepted the challenge of getting the freshman football players ready to compete at the varsity level in 2006.  In 2008 Jared led the freshman to a 9-1 record.  Jared graduated from Highlands Ranch High School and received a BS in math from University of Colorado Boulder.  He also has a Master’s degree in Curriculum and instruction from Colorado Christian University.  Jared teaches math at Dakota Ridge and is the Department Manager for the math department.  Jared is married to Aspin and they have three children Carth (14), Kabe (13), and Syla (9).

 

ERIC NEYEN – LINEBACKERS

Eric Neyen is beginning his 13th season at Dakota Ridge and his sixth as the Linebackers coach for Dakota Ridge.  In 2019 Coach Neyen helped both Colin Stuhr and Steve Reyes achieve All-Conference honors and Steve led all of 4A in tackles.  Coach Neyen was the freshman defensive coordinator for 7 years before moving to the varsity level.  Prior to coming to Dakota Ridge Coach Neyen coached football, baseball and wrestling at Sheridan Middle School.  Eric teaches Math at Summit Ridge Middle School.  He graduated with BA in business from Oklahoma State University and has Master’s degrees from both Colorado University and University of Phoenix.  Eric is married to Traci and they have two kids:  Connor and Kirsten both Dakota Ridge graduates. Coach9 began coaching for DRHS in 2007. He began as an assistant coach for the freshman team, becoming the defensive coordinator. Coach9 moved to varsity/JV in 2014 and became the varsity linebackers position coach and JV defensive coordinator. He is currently the Inside Linebackers position coach and has coached 18 AllConference Linebackers and three AllState Inside Linebackers. Coach9 wants his players to know that he dedicated his coaching life to preparing them to become the best they could be on and off the field. Coach9 is married to Traci (30+ years) and is a proud parent of two DRHS graduates; Connor & Kirsten. Both of his children were three sport athletes at DRHS. Connor was an all-conference wide receiver for us. He graduated from Black Hills State University and is now a US Navy Diver. Kirsten is currently attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Coach9 has been in the Dakota Ridge community since 1999 and has been involved in many community activities outside of DRHS football, including: Powderhorn Elementary School Parent Advisory Council, DRHS Youth Wrestling Association Volunteer Coach, Abiding Hope Lutheran Church Community Life Leadership Team; Fellowship Sports Leader, Sheridan Middle School Football, Wrestling, & Baseball Head Coach, SJSA Youth Football Head Coach, SJSA Youth Baseball Head Coach, DRHS Assistant JV Basketball Coach. Coach9 graduated from Oklahoma State University where he played rugby for the university and multiple intramural sports for his Kappa Sigma fraternity. He received his MBA from The University of Colorado and his MAED from the University of Phoenix. Before teaching, his most recent position was President/CEO of a technology company. He began teaching in 2005 and currently teaches 8th grade math and algebra at Summit Ridge Middle School. He was a finalist for Golden Schools Foundation 2017 Teacher RecognitionAward.  Coach9 is looking forward to this season and watching the growth his players will realize as we pursue a state championship. 

 

MARK LEON – ASSISTANT QUARTERBACKS/WIDE RECEIVERS

 

Mark Leon is beginning his 9th season at Dakota Ridge and his second as assistant quarterbacks coach.    Mark is a graduate of Dakota Ridge where he was a manager and inspirational leader while an Eagle.  Mark brings a fire and attitude to the Dakota Ridge staff and the players really respond well to his attention to detail.  Mark has Down- Syndrome and is an inspiration to all the members of the Dakota Ridge Football family.  Mark was awarded the Jeffco My Hero Award in the spring of 2014 and received a $5,000 scholarship to attend Red Rocks College.  

 

GORDON STANT – OFFENSIVE LINE

 

Gordon Stant will begin his 7th season as Offensive Line coach.   Coach Stant is considered the best offensive lineman to play at Dakota Ridge.  He was a First Team All-State player and All-Colorado his senior year at Dakota Ridge.  He graduated in 2004.  Coach Stant played college football at Northern Colorado.  He currently is working as an electrician.   He is married to Sara and they have 2 sons Parker and Owen.

 

JOHN OFFERDAHL – DEFENSIVE BACKS/KICK RETURNERS

 John Offerdahl (Doc) will begin his 6th season as a varsity Defensive Backs and Kick Returners coach at Dakota Ridge. Prior to coming to Dakota Ridge, he was coaching his sons in youth football. His oldest son, Charlie Offerdahl was a two-time First Team All-State and two-time Jefferson County Player of the Year for Dakota Ridge. Charlie will be a red shirt freshman playing football at the University of Colorado this fall. His youngest son Jack is an incoming freshman at Dakota Ridge and will be playing Football, Lacrosse, and running Track.  Coach Offerdahl is originally from the Seattle area where he played Football, Basketball, Baseball, and coached Football. He received his BS in Biochemistry from the University of Washington and did research in Pharmacology. He then attended Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He has been practicing dentistry in Lakewood and Littleton for 40 years and just retired from the clinical practice of dentistry. He is married to the beautiful Cristee Offerdahl M.D. who is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist. They have 3 wonderful children, Jordan (22), who just graduated from CU, Charlie (20) and Jack (15). The Offerdahl's are thankful to be part of the Dakota Ridge community.


NICK MAY – OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS

 

Coach Nick May is beginning his 1st season back after taking a year off coaching, this will be his 3rd year as the Varsity Outside Linebacker Coach and 5th year at Dakota Ridge. Prior to coaching the Varsity Outside Linebackers Coach May spent 2 seasons coaching the Freshmen team, one season as Head Freshmen Coach and one season as the Freshmen Defensive Coordinator. Before coaching at Dakota Ridge, Coach May spent 4 years coaching Football and Lacrosse for South Jeffco Sports Association. He attended Mullen High School and received a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Colorado State University and is currently completing a M.S. degree in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Colorado. He currently works for the University of Colorado School of Medicine as a Program Manager in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology. Coach May believes this team has the leadership and talent to continue the success of Dakota Ridge Football and complete their goal of winning a state championship. 

 

KYLE DEROSIER – OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS

 

Kyle DeRosier will be beginning his second season at Dakota Ridge as one of the outside linebacker coaches. Many recent stops along the way with stints in youth and high school as well as Lacrosse here at Dakota ridge.
Excited to see what the future holds here at Dakota ridge many talented student athletes here as well as a phenomenal coaching staff that I am very fortunate to be a part of. Me and my Wife Jamie DeRosier are excited to be part of the eagle family. 

 

SCOTT CAVALLARO – WIDE RECEIVERS/ASSISTANT SPECIAL TEAMS

 

Coach Cavo is starting his 5th season on the Dakota Ridge Football staff as Assistant Special Teams/Assistant Wide Receivers Coach.  Prior to coaching with Dakota Ridge, Coach Cavo spent 11 years coaching football in the South Jeffco and Dakota Ridge programs.  He received his BA in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Northern Colorado in 1988.  He is currently employed as a Senior Consultant at Metrolink Mortgage in Greenwood Village, CO.  Coach Cavo is married to Stephanie (32 years) and has three kids who all attended Dakota Ridge, Jack 25 yrs old and 2015 graduate of DR and 2020 grad of Colorado State Univ, Addie 22yrs old,  2018 graduate of DR and 2022 graduate at Colorado State Univ, Joey 19 yrs old and 2021 graduate of DR and currently playing WR at the University of Dubuque, IA.  Coach Cavo is confident that Dakota Ridge will be a force within the 4A Colorado Football and thinks they have the ability to win a state title.

 

PAUL LUNA – HEAD FRESHMAN

 

Paul Luna is the Head Freshman coach at Dakota Ridge..  This will be Coach Luna’s 11th year as part of the Dakota Ridge program.  Coach Luna teaches American History and Economics at Dakota Ridge. Coach Luna was won the Assistant Coach of the Year for Dakota Ridge high school.   He is such a valuable asset to the freshman program by being in the building.  Coach Luna is married to Lynette and they have 3 children:  Mason, Carter and Brooke.


KYLE SCOFIELD – FRESHMAN ASSISTANT

 

Coach Scofield played Wide Receiver for Dakota Ridge and graduated in 2018. He returns to the school as a first year coach for the Freshmen WR/DBs. After high school, Coach Scofield walked on to the football team at the University of Colorado Boulder. He played Cornerback for two years with the Buffaloes and spent his last year as a student coach under current safeties coach and former NFL veteran, Brett Maxie. This Fall he will be receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is very excited to be coaching for his alma mater, and can’t wait to help the future varsity players of Dakota Ridge develop and grow as players and men.

 

IZAAK MCWILLIAMS – ASSISTANT OFFENSIVE LINE

 

Coach Izaak McWilliams is starting his first year in coaching for Dakota Ridge. He played at Dakota Ridge where he was a captain and 2nd team All-State lineman of the 2019 Semi-finals team. After two years at Bethel University in Minnesota, where he continued to play football, he decided to come home and begin his coaching career. He is still a student at Red Rocks Community College where he is pursuing a career in Fire Emergency services. He is the youngest of a family of five and is currently engaged to his high school sweetheart and is planning for a wedding for next fall.

 

DILLON MEYERS – INSIDE LINEBACKERS

 

Dillon Meyers will be starting his first year as an intern coach working with our Inside Linebackers.  Dillon is currently finishing his degree from Colorado Mesa with a major in Sports Management.  Dillon is a former two time All-Conference and All-State player for the Eagles.  His senior year at Dakota Ridge he was voted the League Defensive MVP by the coaches and had the opportunity to play in the All-State game.  He is the grandson of Coach Woj.

 

MATT GULTIG – ASSISANT FRESHMAN

 

Matt Gultig will be returning as an assistant freshman coach and he will assume the role of Defensive Coordinator for the freshman team.  Matt is a graduate of Dakota Ridge where he earn First Team All-Conference honors and was voted league Defensive MVP his senior year.  He had the chance to play in the All-State game his senior year. 

 

 

DAK RIECKE – ASSISTANT FRESHMAN

 

Dak Riecke will be beginning his second season as the freshman Offensive Line Coach.  Coach Riecke brings a wealth of knowledge to offensive line play which will benefit the young freshman offensive lineman.  Dak is also the Head boys lacrosse coach at Dakota Ridge and was voted the Male Coach of the Year for 2021 at Dakota Ridge.  He led the boys lacrosse team to their first ever playoff appearance in the spring of 2021.
