We learned recently that Dick's Sporting Goods offers an amazing service to non-profit sporting and recreation groups. We are obviously taking advantage of it.

Blue Sombrero is the name of a Website developing service that Dick's Sporting Goods acquired. In turn, Dick's made the Blue Sombrero services available to sporting leagues, camps, and other non-profit organizations. And it is all free to these organizations.

We have a lot to learn about this kind of operation, but if you have suggestions, we are open.

With this service, campers can not only get information about camp online, but they can also register and even pay for their registrations. They can also take advantage of a monthly payment plan--a great way to spread out the expenses of sending a child to camp!

Parents/guardians will need to open an account with Dick's Sporting Goods in order to use the site for registrsation, which means they will receive occasional promotions in their emails. That seems a small price to pay for such first class service.
