Napa Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken

Content

League age is based on the players age on April 30 of the playing season!

Cal Ripken Divisions:
T-Ball (Ages 4-6):

We form teams based on the neighborhood school and comments parents have provided on the registration form (i.e. "I want Brad to be on the same team as Angelina").  Team formation happens after the older divisions have completed tryouts and the draft, but are generally settled by late February.

As a rule, the T-Ball teams will start practice around the first of March. Practices can be once or twice a week, depending on the Team Manager and his/her schedule and objectives.  The days of the practice, are again, at the discretion of the Manager.  Practices will be held at a local school we have assigned to the league.

Once we get into the season and start our games, games are once a week and are played on Saturdays; times can be as early as 9:00 am as late as 3:00, depending on how the schedule is formed; that we will not know until we get closer to the middle of March.

Equipment needed for players: glove (not plastic), belt, socks, practice pants, plastic cleats, cup and mouth guard. Specific colors for regular season pants, socks and belt will be determined by team assignments and coaches choice. Bats (must meet USA standards). Be aware that some t-ball bats are heavier than small rookie bats. Buy the lightest if you are going to buy one. Bat size should be sternum to fingertip and the larger the "drop" number as you care to pay for. Carbon fiber, at this age, is a waste of money. Helmets are provided by the league unless you'd like to provide your own.
Equipment provided by league: jersey and hat
