Lake Mary Little League Goals

Lake Mary Little League at the Lake Mary Sports Complex is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe, instructional and fun environment for the children of area of Lake Mary, Florida, ages 4-16. Chartered under the umbrella of Little League International, Inc, and Little League District 23 of Central Florida, we share a mission to "to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball."


Offered Programs

  Rookies Softball :
The Minor Softball Division is for league age 7-10 year olds. In this division, players begin to pitch to batters. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Softball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 35 feet.
  Minor League Softball :
The Minor Softball Division is for league age 7-10 year olds. In this division, players begin to pitch to batters. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Softball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 35 feet.
  Major League Softball :
The Major League Softball Division is for league age 11-12 year olds. At this division, players continue to develop their skills as they prepare for post season tournaments. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 40 feet.
  T-Ball:
The T-Ball Division is for league age 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of the T-Ball Division are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Depending on the players experience, they will have opportunities to receive three underhand pitches from a coach before a Tee is introduced. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond.

This division will typically have 1 game with 1 practice a week.
  Single A (A) - Machine Pitch:
The Single A (Machine Pitch) Division is for league age 6-8 year olds as they continue to develop their skills. In this division, players received pitch balls from the machine before the ball is placed on a tee. This division keeps score and follows the fundamental rules of the Minor League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond. 

This division will typically have 1 game with 1 practice a week.
  Double A (AA)  - Coach/Player Pitch:
The Double A (Coach/Player Pitch) Division is for league age 7-10 year olds as they continue to develop their skills. In this division, players received pitch balls from the coach for several inning and then other players for the remaining innings.   The mix of coach and player pitching will progress as the season moves along to help build up the experience of facing other players pitching. This division keeps score and follows the fundamental rules of the Minor League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond.   Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment and the evaluation will be determined if they should be part of this division or the Triple A (AAA) division.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.
  Triple A (AAA) - Player Pitch Minors:
The Triple A (Player Pitch) Division is for league age 9-11 year olds with a league option to allow qualifying league age 8 year olds. At this division, all pitching will be from the players to the batters. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.   Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment and the evaluation will be determined if they should be part of this division or the Double A (AA) division.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.
  Majors or Little League Baseball:
The Major League Baseball Division or Little League Baseball is for league age 9-12 year olds and is the division that is most closely associated with the Little League World Series.  In the Majors Division there is a league option to allow qualifying league age 10 year olds. At this division, players continue to develop their skills as they prepare for post season tournaments. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.   This division does introduce more of the rules of the higher levels of baseball in terms of substitution rules with fielding and only the nine players in the active lineup bat.  Players must attend an assessment to participate, and also to determine if they should be in this division or the AAA division.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.
  Intermediate Baseball or 50/70 Baseball:
The Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division is for league age 11-13 year olds. This division offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and the Junior/Senior/Big League field size (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance and 90-foot base paths).  Many of the Junior League rules will be used such as runners being permitted to lead off bases, runners may attempt to steal at any time, and allowing an on-deck batter.   These rules are more in line with the rules used in High School and above levels of baseball.  The diamond used is a 70-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 50 feet.    The Intermediate Division of baseball does have a Little League World Series similar to the one associated with the Majors division that occurs in California annually.  This division follows the rules of the higher levels of baseball in terms of substitution rules with fielding and only the nine players in the active lineup bat.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.
  Junior Baseball :
The Junior Baseball Division is for league age 12-14 year olds. This division uses a conventional sized baseball field and follows traditional baseball rules. The diamond used is a 90-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 60 foot, 6 inches.   This division is a great introduction to the rules the players will play if they are part of a high school team.
  Senior Baseball :
The Senior Baseball Division is for league age 13-16 year olds and builds on the Junior and Intermediate Division offerings. This division uses a conventional sized baseball field and follows traditional baseball rules. The diamond used is a 90-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 60 foot, 6 inches
