Ripon is located along the Stanislaus River, where river rafting and fishing are popular pastimes. Mavis Stouffer Park, located on the Stanislaus River, offers picnicking facilities, ball fields, bocce ball courts, and a large or two small gazebos for special events. The gazebos are available to the public on a first come first serve basis; however, they can also be rented for special events. Rental of the gazebos is restricted to Ripon residents and Ripon businesses only.

The Corps Park at the end of of Parallel Avenue leads to the Ripon River Crossing for hiking and biking to Modesto.
