The South Glens Falls Girls Softball League is dedicated to providing girls between the age of 5 to 12 with an opportunity to participate in competitive sports. Our goal is to teach them how to play as part of a team with good sportsmanship.We strive to maintain that recreation softball is a game, and that having a good experience is the most important part of participation.

Girls Softball in South Glens Falls started in 1994 with only 4 teams. Though the beginning of the league was humble, the girls were well on their way to establishing their presence in South Glens Falls. During the first 4 years, the SGF Girls Softball teams operated under the guidance of the SGF Little League Association. Then, in 1999, Jack & Pete Brock were instrumental in establishing what we now know as the South Glens Falls Girls Softball League.

The league has gone from supporting 48 girls in 1994 to over 300 girls participating in 2004.In 2004, the league fielded 27 teams from T-Ball to Senior level. During the past 10 years there have been several All-Star teams that have gone to the state finals. There have also been many teams win 1st place in local tournaments. We have even had teams that finished in the top 4 in the ASA (Amateur Softball Association) state championships.

The teams of the South Glens Falls Girls Softball League have always been top-level contenders at all levels of All-Star play. Their commitment to the game and their good sportsmanship have made them champions on and off the field. The league was also host to the 1997 Section II Championship for 9-10 year old division.

Many girls who have participated in the league have gone on to play at the high school and collegiate level. Their years spent in the league, learning the rules of play, has served many girls well in their upper level team participation.
