The Eastern Shore Pop Warner
Football and Cheer Association has successfully completed its third year as a
chartered member of the Eastern Region of Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. and
league member of Henlopen Pop Warner Inc.
We are excited about what 2017 has in store for these stellar student
athletes. Since our inception in 2012 we’ve
been able to engage over 150 student athletes between the ages of 5-15 from
Cape Charles, VA to Pocomoke City, MD in the sports of football and cheer. They’ve learned the fundamentals of football
and cheer, sportsmanship, and scholastic accountability from a dedicated staff
of more than 35 community volunteers. The hard work exhibited by all resulted
in a 75% increase in 2016 Carl Walls Scholar Award recipients for participants
who maintained a 93% grade point average for the academic year. While the wins continue
to increase and players become more competitive on the field; the development
of our young athletes has become more visible than ever. In order to continue
this upward trend, we’re always looking for support from our local community.
We’ve received contributions
from companies like Wal-Mart, Bay Shore Concrete, Therapeutic Interventions, ANEC,
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and many other local and private supporters. This support has allowed us to keep pace with
the steady growth of the organization. We’ve
been able to purchase equipment, uniforms, and provide scholarships for our
2016 participants. However, there are still more student athletes that can
benefit from our program. We are making this possible by forming relationships
with vendors that are giving us competitive prices for the aforementioned
items. This year we are focusing on
field equipment (balls, tackling dummies, cheer mats, blocking sleds, field
markers, etc.) These items are critical
to the continued development of our student athletes. There are several ways to
help our children become champions through sponsorship.
Your contributions are fully
tax deductible. We believe that the mission of helping the future development
of youth on the Eastern Shore through scholastic achievement, football, and
cheer is worth the investment. Please contact us directly if you’re interested
in supporting us. The 2017 Season begins
in August, so don’t forget to check back for the schedule and catch, YOUR
Eastern Shore Gators in action. GO
GATORS!
Sincerely,
Adrian Smith
Association President
