About FKAL

FKAL started with organized baseball in 1961 and was chartered as “The First Kettering Little League.”The program started from a group of kids from around the neighborhood that played baseball together on the grounds of the Irelan Farm property in Kettering, Ohio.  This land eventually donated by the Irelan family to the City of Kettering with land set aside for the kids to play baseball. FKAL provides baseball programs for children from Kindergarten  through senior year of high school.

FKAL is providing a safe, clean, fun environment where kids can come and have fun while learning good sportsmanship, respect, and baseball.  This environment is free from violence, intimidation, foul language, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and abuse.  The league continues this philosophy today and provides an opportunity for all kids to play in all games regardless of their talent level.

FKALis rich in tradition and very proud of our namesake and being in the City of Kettering.  Generations of families come back to play, coach, and manage teams.  All children of Kettering and all areas around Kettering are welcome to come and play.  All trustees, managers, coaches, assistants, and some parents all donate their precious time free of charge.
