About

FC CANARINHO is proud to welcome new players to our new big family. Based on good faith values, we owe our kids the wisdom passed generation over generation like honesty, loyalty, friendship and love. This club aims to be a sum of little passionate players, which will create a great and big feeling of love in playing soccer. We are not alone, we can't do anything alone, and soccer is a awesome environment we use to teach children how to treat people they way they are, not the way we want them to be. We are open for everyone at anytime, and no matter what, we never give up on a player and his believes, instead, we guide them to be good people in future.

"Nowadays, we all know soccer became a huge and global entertainment, a business without borders. Along with this dimension, competition increased and more people started to go in deep into the game details. Foot skills, physical development, tactics analysis, there are lots of "experts" in soccer out there, with the best technology and real time feedback. Sounds awesome right ?? Unfortunately, a lot of this guys lacks of what really matters. Money and fame can't by that. I've played soccer all my life, living and playing for Sao Paulo FC. From all of the things I've learned, the most important, came from my dad (who was an awesome player by the way with true passion in his heart).  Soccer is team game and you will need to deal with people, frustrations, emotions, problems of others. Because life is a team life. Understand and practice that is not easy. I needed a lot of time and effort from my coaches to learn how to respect my team mates, how to play fair, how to trust them when passing the ball, how to run for another's mistake. Always with the support of my father. I've learned how to be out there and face my weaknesses, my fears, my awake nights. I've learned how to put this game in my heart and play for it. We are not robots, we are not running, shooting, dribbling (and whatever more today's invented) machines. Most of the kids will not become a professional, and even if they do, those are the most important values I would be proud to see on them. This program is intended to teach soccer along with all the most important values in life, and never, it will be placed upfront those. We never give up on a child." Marcello Musarra

Let's talk about soccer history and our name:

Going back to history, beginning of Brazil teams, up to 1950 World Cup our uniform was white jerseys and blue collar. However, in 1953 the CBF (Brazilian Soccer Confederation) decided to change the colors. They created a national competition requiring the design of a new uniform with the 4 colors of Brazil flag, yellow, white, green, blue. The winner was a young 19 year old boy from south of Brazil, called Aldyr Garcia. He had the idea to use the shirt with yellow-canary (the bird color) with some green in collar and blue shorts. His idea became reality in 1954 World Cup in Switzerland, where the team received the nickname "Selecao Canarinho" (Little Canary Team), by the great radio announcer Geraldo Jose de Almeida. Brazil won 5 times the World Cup (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002) which led us to be champion of the champions.

One of the best memories is the 1982 Brazil Team, with Zico, Socrates, Falcao and co, pushed by the song "Voa Canarinho".

And can't forget 1970 team with Pele, of course.

Soccer is a passionate game which we don't know exactly when and where it has started. Some say its origin comes from China 3,000 b.c., others, Japan, Greece or Rome. Truth is the kick off was done by the British in 1885, creating the "professional" soccer.

Charles Miller, a Brazilian guy born in Sao Paulo, who had lived in England since 9 years old, brought in his bag the first soccer ball to Brazil in 1894 and could not imagine its fantastic dimension.

Today, an iconic stadium built in 1940, Pacaembu, in Sao Paulo, is located at the end of Charles Miller Square.

In memory of my father, the great Alexandre Musarra who passed away in Jan 2015, I'm glad to say you are very welcome to join us, and make our pleasure to share this generation over generation wise. Thanks Dad, love you forever.
