Concussion Policy

CONCUSSION POLICY & PROCEDURE

The Crestwood Soccer Club has adopted the following policy and procedure for suspected Concussions in order to ensure the safety of our players.  This policy is effective January 1, 2016.

If a player suffers a suspected concussion, the following rules and procedures MUST be strictly followed:

SUSPECTED CONCUSSION:
1. The player MUST BE REMOVED from the game immediately, and;

2. The concussion protocol must be administered to the player. CSC Coaches and Referees must use the App that the Club made available to them for this procedure.

3. If the App indicates that the player may be suffering from a concussion, the player's parent(s) MUST be notified immediately. The parent(s) must be instructed that if the player is suspected of suffering a concussion that was determined by the use of the App and further examination using the concussion protocols, the player CANNOT play OR practice again unless the parent(s) obtain a written clearance letter/note from the player's physician.

4. The Physician's Letter/Note must be received by the Coach prior to the player being allowed to practice or play. The Physician's Letter/Note must then be emailed to the CSC Board upon receipt.

This Policy and Procedure is NOT negotiable and MUST be followed WITHOUT exception for the safety of our players!

The app being used by Crestwood Soccer Club Can be found in the App Store called PAR CRR:
