Q: How much does the program cost?
A: In 2017 the program cost is $750/player. This includes offseason practice facility cost, practice shirt, hat, uniform top, team backpack, team helmet, AAU insurance, tournament entry fees, umpire costs, and other items such as game baseballs, etc.
Q: Why is your cost lower than other AAU and EBL baseball programs?
A: Central Mass Outlaws Baseball is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that maintains no overhead and passes along all baseball opportunities at actual cost. We feel strongly that financial considerations should not be a barrier to playing high-level baseball for talented and dedicated players.
Q: What does the schedule look like?
A: We plan to participate in the NEAAU Spring League and schedule one doubleheader per weekend beginning in late March and continuing through late June. Depending on our success in playoffs and tournaments we forecast between 30-35 games.
Q: Do your players also participate on their local Little League, Cal Ripken, Middle School teams?
A: Yes, we aim to supplement and enhance local town teams by giving players an opportunity to start practicing earlier in the year, pick up competitive travel games, and then be wrapped up in time for local all-stars and other programs.
Q: Do you have open roster spots or host tryouts?
A: Central Mass Outlaws is currently by invitation only although we do occasionally host tryouts. Prospect players and families are invited to participate in team practice, non-divisional games, and also supplement tournament teams as a matter of trying out.
