Detective Darrell Aiken was born and raised in Harlem New York. Detective Aiken graduated and played basketball for St. John’s University where he played for legendary coach Lou Carnesecca. He received a BA in communications from St. John’s University in 1990. After graduating Darrell worked as a counselor/mentor in group homes and youth organizations throughout NYC. Darrell graduated from the NYC Police Academy in 1994 and served the borough of Brooklyn until joining the Hempstead PD in 1997. His love for youth and the Hempstead community has lead him to become the Director of the Police Athletic League in 2016.

Mynita Atkinson, has been involved with the Village of Hempstead Police Activities League for over 20 years. She started as a parent of two participants (daughter and son), became a volunteer, elected to the Board and has served in numerous positions over the years. Mynita has an Associates Degree in Accounting, and serves in many ministries at her church including the Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry and Hospitality Committee. Mynita has a great passion for the Village of Hempstead Police Activity League, when asked about this organization reply is always the same “As a divorced Mother the Village of Hempstead PAL was instrumental in providing my children a safe haven, sports activities, character building, relationship between themselves & Police Officers it is my responsibility to assist in providing these same opportunities to the youth of this community”.

 Curtis Watts created and form a Mentoring program called the “The One through the One”, which to reach youth at all stages. within the Hempstead community teaching them how to be responsible and accountable despite their own circumstances.

 Krissy Renyolds, was born and raised in the Village of Hempstead. My goal as a member of the PAL board, is to provide our youth with uplifting and positive energy.

Gina Dickens, Secretary, member since 2007 Gina has been working for Verizon for 29 years.  She has been residing in Hempstead since 1997.  She has been married for 23 years and has 2 sons, Kevin 22 and Jordan 18 who both have been part of the PAL family since they were young.

Ana Molina has been residing in Hempstead for over 30 years. Her passion is to serve others and God. She is looking forward to networking and partnering with the Hempstead Community
