When you begin communicating with college coach one of the first things they are likely to request is a skills video. With a majority of college coaches operating on reduced recruiting budget they want to evaluate your skill level on film prior to watching you play in a game situation.

Unfortunately there is a general misconception by both parents and players, that when a player participates in a showcase event a player will be noticed by a college leading to a scholarship. While this does happen, it is a certainly the exception and NOT the rule.

When attending a showcase have you ever wonder what a college is talking to another player when you know you are a better player or even had a better game while they are watching? College coaches go to showcase events with a plan and see players that are taking care of their recruiting business. Each video is geared toward the specific talent of each player. Videos are filmed one-on-one in a private skill session. The process is simple and the players will be guided through every step of the way. During filming players will complete several skills that simulate game situations for specific positions. Players will be filmed from various angles, which last approximately one hour including batting practice. The video is then edited to no more than 5-10 minutes in length. College coaches have asked to keep videos to 5-10 minutes in length. Once the player is satisfied with the finished product, it is prepared for distribution on YourTube and/or DVD.
