RUSH SOCCER Fall Goalkeeping Season 2021
Rush Way Philosophy - Goalkeeping
The basic premise of the goalkeeping philosophy is to simply keep the ball from crossing the goal line between the posts. In order to be successful in this philosophy, we must pay attention to the details of all our Goalkeepers within the club. Details are as simple as catching the ball, to making the save in the top corner or distributing the ball as the first line of attack, as well as being the last defender; all must be addressed. A combination of hard work, ethics and a good technical education will provide our Goalkeepers with a solid foundation to become the best possible keeper that their natural ability will allow. Consistently keeping the ball from crossing the goal line between the posts defines a successful goalkeeper.
Training Dates/Times
The following schedule is for all U11-U19 Competitive goalkeepers. The Philosophy is to train goalkeepers in small groups of age or ability to maximize the reps and training environment. Please understand I have talked to coaches about these Goalkeeping training sessions taking priority over the team training sessions as they only occur once per week. They are the only position-specific training your keeper will receive. Please see the training times below.
