Information for Team Managers
Steps for setting up a new team (fall to spring travel soccer)
- After tryout invitations have gone out, start collecting (a) birth certificate, (b) medical release form, (c) 1"x1" jpg head shot picture and (d) scanned copies of medical identification cards from each new and existing player that accepts a position on the team.
- Go to the EPYSA website, find and click the link for "Risk Assessment" within "Member Services" and follow the steps. You will need to clear this step and be set up in the EPYSA database as the team manager before you can perform the next step. Once this step is completed you will receive a Username and Password. PRINT AND SAVE this information... you will need it!
- Make sure the team coach and assistant coaches have completed their Risk Assessments as well. The team cannot be set up until they have done so. They need to do this EVERY YEAR.
- Once the roster is established, go to EPYSA website, register the team and add in the information for each player by following the "Online Registration" link. You will need (a) and (c) from step 1 above to complete this step. Remember to upload the birth certificate and photo of each player into their individual record.
- Print out two (2) copies of the team roster from the EPYSA website.
Note: If the team will be playing in the ICSL league (link below) you will need to (1) print out passes for all players from the EPYSA website (printed on special paper you can get from the league rep), (2) print two copies of the EPYSA roster, and (c) gather all player birth certificates to give to the club league rep for registration. You should also have the Medical Release Form and RG-6 for each player in your possession.
Requirements for PAGS and Delco League will be communicated by the respective club league rep.

Jersey Numbers
The objective is to have every player within each age group have different jersey numbers so they can guest play without conflicting with another player in that age group!
- 7v7 & 9v9 teams:
- Rush Academy, Rush teams: 1-14 (GK #1, if x2 #00)
- Academy Blue, Nero teams: 15-28
- Academy White, Azul teams: 29-43
- Cinza teams: 44-58
- 11v11 teams:
- Rush teams: 1-22 (1-00 is reserved for the goalkeeper)
- Nero teams: 23-45
- Azul teams: 46-68
- Cinza teams: 69-90
NOTE: In the case where there is only one team in a gender/age group that one team will use numbers 1-18 or 1-22 (11v11) or 1-14 (8v8), regardless of whether they are a Rush, Nero, or Azul team (by name).
- Goalkeeper jerseys
- U11 and younger
- As most younger teams do not have a full time goalkeeper the player assigned to that position may wear a pinnie or "off the shelf" goalkeeper jersey for the time they are playing that position.
- U12 and older
- Goalkeepers must wear the official New Yellow goalkeeper jersey. This can be purchased by the player(s) or by the team.
- Goalkeeper jersey numbers for Rush teams must be 1 or 00. Other teams can use other numbers.
Tournaments
Registering for tournaments that the team has planned and budgeted to attend is generally the responsibility of the Team Manager throughout the season.
Important Tips:
- Make sure you will have enough players and guest players before registering.
- Register as soon as possible. Open slots at popular tournaments tend to fill up quickly and tournament directors often close the door to applications ahead of the originally planned date if they get enough teams to sign up. Many tournaments also offer "early bird" discounts!
- Depending on the tournament you may be able to send a check in for payment, which will often give you enough time to request and receive a check from the team account ahead of time. In other cases they will require a credit card and you will likely have to use your own to process the registration. If this is the case make sure your Team Treasurer gets your check (refund) request as soon as possible to avoid interest fees.
