About Us

Baldwin Summer Program has been operating out of Baldwin Park for the last 35 years. We are a non for profit Summer Day Camp Program for children Pre K – 8th grade in the Baldwin, Freeport, Oceanside and Rockville Center communities. We have roughly 150 – 200 campers each year and we hire 40 – 50 High School age Counselors and Counselors in Training (CIT) each summer. Our camp also employs certified teachers as well as a registered nurse. Due to Covid, the 2021 summer will be limited to Pre-k to 5th Grade only. (Hopefully , 6-8 can return)

This year our program begins on July 6, 2021 and runs through August 13, 2021. Our day begins at 9:00 am and runs until 3:00 pm. We have early drop off at 8:00 am

Campers are dropped off and brought down to the picnic tables near the community room and the children are dismissed from the parking supervised by Counselors and CITs.

Throughout the day we have different groups of campers and Counselors taking part in various activities throughout the park. In 2019, we added Art and Music to the program and we will be looking to adding weekly science classes! On any given day you can find campers playing kickball on the baseball fields, European handball being played in the Hockey Rink as well as younger campers in the playground or on the fields surrounding the playground taking part in any number of activities.

In the past, our campers in grades 2-8 will also be eligible to go on Day Trips. Last year the campers in grades 2 - 3 enjoyed trips to the movies, bowling, Bounce U and grades 4- 8 campers attended Adventureland, Skyzone, Dave & Busters, roller skating, movies, Q-Zar laser tag, and bowling. Due to Covid concerns, we are unsure of if Field Trips will happen this summer.
