Please tell your players not to stress out about their performance.  Every child will be placed on a team at the appropriate division.  Players should bring a bat, fielding glove, fielding mask and batting helmet, in addition to their own water (optional), mask and hand sanitizer.  Player should wear sneakers or tennis shoes (NO CLEATS ALLOWED).

Parents or a guardian will be asked to accompany their child to the check-in desk and confirm that they have completed the facility waiver.  Once your child is checked in, you can wait in your car until the evaluation is done.

Spring team assignments will be announced after the player evaluation, draft selection, and team assignment process is completed.  This process ensures that players are evaluated for safely playing at the right level, and all teams are fairly balanced to maintain appropriate competition.  Team rosters will be communicated within 2 weeks of the evaluations.

If your daughter is not able to make her assigned time, please email Jon Schlegel.  For the families of our youngest players, there are no tryouts for Coach Pitch or Tee Ball.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend the player evaluations?
All players who registered for AA, AAA and Majors should plan to attend the scheduled evaluation session in order to be placed in a division.
Evaluations are organized by the division you registered for. If you have contacted us or put in your registration that you would like your daughter to be considered as a play-up (i.e. the system would not allow you to register for a division due to age restrictions so you'd like your daughter considered for a level above what you were able to register for) then she must attend the evaluation session for BOTH the division she has registered for and the play-up division. As a reminder, play-ups are rare and become increasingly rare in the higher divisions.

What to bring?
Each player should bring a bat, batting helmet, fielding mask and fielder's glove (not a catcher's mitt).

**All personal equipment should be labeled.

Why are there player evaluations?
The purpose of the player evaluation is to assist the Player Agent and League Commissioners in properly placing players at the level most appropriate level for their skills and experience. Little League regulations require every player playing AA or higher to be assessed prior to placement. The skills evaluation also helps the team managers plan for the AA, AAA, and Major league drafts. All players at AA, AAA, and Majors are selected for their teams through a draft process by the managers. As a reminder, although we will pass all carpool, friend, coach, and practice day requests to the managers of each division for the draft for consideration, there are very specific drafting rules set out by Little League that must be followed to ensure fair teams for the Spring season and these rules must govern the draft above all else. The Majors team(s) will be drafted first and once filled then all remaining players are put into the AAA draft and so on. This means that your daughter’s final division placement is determined by where drafted based on the tryout, past coach evaluations, and where it is felt your daughter will best continue to develop both their softball skills and their love of the game.

What is expected of the players during the evaluations?
Players will be evaluated on their fielding, throwing and hitting skills. Players may be asked to demonstrate pitching and catching skills, if desired. It is probably a good idea to spend some time working on these skills prior to the evaluation. It may not be a good idea for the evaluation to be the first time the player has picked up a softball since last spring or last fall. The evaluation process may take up to an hour.

How can my child be prepared for the evaluation?
Arrive 5-10 minutes before your evaluations window. Wear appropriate softball or exercise attire, arrive with plenty of time to sign in and do some light stretching. Relax, have fun, and do your best!

What time are the evaluations?
In order to decrease wait times and make the sessions move faster, we are organizing the evaluations by level that the player is registered for. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early. Specific time slots are listed above.

Can parents watch the evaluations?
No, parents will not be allowed to watch the evaluations. We limit the evaluations to as few people as possible – league officials, managers (or their proxy), and volunteers assisting with evaluations. Not only does this provide a less stressful environment for the players, it helps keep the flow of the process moving along during this busy day. It also helps keep the number of distractions at an absolute minimum.

What if I know someone who wants to play softball, but has not registered?
Walk-in registration will be available for players who have not yet registered – but pre-registration is much preferred. Be sure to tell all your friends and neighbors! A late fee will be assessed at the time of registration.

When will my player find out what team she is on?
You will hear from your child’s manager approximately 2 -3 weeks after the evaluations.
