League and Registration Information

Registration Process - Spring Registration is CLOSED (9 January - 28 February 2023).  Contact RBSA President if you want a late registration.

Players are placed in leagues based on their age on May 1stThe grade they are in is not taken into account.  This is a national Little League rule and not unique to RBSA.  To register for any RBSA program, you must register online as RBSA does not accept paper registrations.

Go  to www.rbsaweb.com, and in the upper left hand corner, click the “Register” button.  (Once you register once, you just need to log into the system with your account all other times.)  You will be required to first enter your information, then your children’s information.  Based on your child’s age, you will then be presented with the programs available at that time.  RBSA, by partnering with the Revere High School Baseball and Softball programs, offers our rec leagues, a travel program, and fall and winter camps.  We are fortunate to be able to offer year round opportunities for players of all skill levels to play or practice.

Registration information is listed on our website, our Facebook page, on Revere Local Schools Fly ‘R Central, via e-mail blasts to past participants, and sometimes through advertisements in the Richfield Times and Bath Country Journal.  The RBSA does our best to communicate to the community the dates for our rec league sign-ups, travel team tryouts, and our numerous camps.

If your child is one of the older or younger children in their grade and they qualify for a league that a majority of their classmates are not in, you can make a request in writing to the RBSA President they be moved to a different league.  For example, if your child’s age qualifies them for the BCP league, but they are one of the younger kids in their grade so the majority of their classmates are in the H League, you can request they “play up” to H.  Not all requests can be granted, but all are considered and granted when possible.  “Playing down” requests are rarely approved and must have extenuating circumstances to be considered.

Once registered, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the league you are registered for and further information will be sent to you via e-mail as needed.  E-mails are system, so check your spam folder to ensure you receive needed communications.

League Descriptions

T-Ball

Instructional League - Also called I League, this is our t-ball league.  It is for 5-6 year olds, which is typically kids entering K and 1st grade, and is our only co-ed league.  Score is not kept and there are no playoffs.  Due to this, everyone gets a participation trophy.  The primary concern of this league is teaching the kids the different positions, the basic rules, and having fun.  We do not do pre-season training for this league.

Baseball

Boys Coach Pitch – BCP is for 7-8 year olds, which is typically kids entering 2nd 3rd and grade.  Coaches pitch to their own team and balls and called strikes are not called, meaning the batter only gets a strike if they swing the bat.  The boys have ten balls to get a hit, if they do not strike out before that.  Bases are 60’ apart.  Everyone plays on the field every inning, so there are typically a higher number of players in the outfield.  All players must play a minimum number of innings in the infield and outfield every game.  Trophies are presented to the end of year tournament champion and runner-up only.  All the teams are Revere teams.

H League – Also called Kid Pitch since this is the first league the kids pitch in.  It is for 9-10 year olds, which is typically kids entering 4th and 5th grades.  Balls and strikes are called.  The base runners can steal one base at a time, but are not permitted to steal home.  Bases are 60’ apart and the pitcher’s mound is 46’ from the plate.  There are four outfielders so there are ten players on the field.  Everyone is in the batting order, whether you play on the field that inning or not, and everyone must play in the infield at some point during the game.  Trophies are presented to the end of year tournament champion and runner-up only.  All the teams are Revere teams.

G League – This league is for 11-12 year olds, typically kids entering 6th and 7th grades.  This league is similar to H League, however the teams play against teams from other communities and “real baseball rules” are followed. (i.e. The ball is basically always live.)  The bases are 70’ apart and the pitcher’s mound is 50’ from the plate.  The competition is a considerable step up from H League.  One Revere team represents the RBSA in the end of year tournament.

F League – This is our summer program for middle school students.  This league is for 13-14 year olds, typically kids entering 8th and 9th grades.  Rules in this league are similar to G League.  The bases are 90’ apart and the pitcher’s mound is 55’ from the plate.

E League – This is our summer program for high school students.  Players are 15 – 18 years old.  Anyone who is 19 years old by May 1st is ineligible to play.  We do not do pre-season training for this league.

Softball

Girls Coach Pitch – GCP is for 7-8 year olds, which is typically kids entering 2nd and 3rd grade.  Coaches pitch to their own team and balls and called strikes are not called, meaning the batter only gets a strike if they swing the bat.  The girls have ten balls to get a hit, if they do not strike out before that.  Bases are 55’ apart.  There are four outfielders so there are ten players on the field.  Everyone is in the batting order, whether you play on the field that inning or not.  The teams play against teams from other communities. Score is kept, however, there are no playoffs.  Due to this, everyone gets a participation trophy.
