Futsal is a fast pace game that allows players to receive several touches on the ball. The quick inter-play makes for a fun and exciting environment while players develop decision making and technical ability. Below you will find more details on the PDSC futsal league. We look forward to your players participation in this growing and beneficial sport.
Futsal is a type of soccer, generally played on a court with boundaries like an outdoor soccer field. Played with 4 players and a goalkeeper, and a small goal proportional to the field. The ball is smaller and denser than a regular soccer ball to limit flight. Kick offs, corners, and free kicks take place in futsal, but no goal kicks. Goalkeeper are allowed to start play with the hands by throwing or rolling the ball to a team. Games consist of 20-minute halves. When a team commits 6 fouls the opposing team is awarded a penalty kick.
PDSC will be using house rules to referee futsal games, but for a fuller understanding of futsal rules visit the link below.
