Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers are REQUIRED to complete a background check and Abuse Awareness training per Little League International Regulations. This includes board members, coaches, assistant coaches, scorekeepers, dugout parents, or anyone volunteering in any other capacity. 

Here is how you complete the requirements: 

1) Background Check - Detailed Instructions Here
     - Login to Sports Connect
     - Click on "Volunteer" on the L hand pane
     - Follow the rest of the steps on the website. You will be required to ask questions and upload a copy of your Driver's License. 
     - Once completed, you will receive an email from J.D. Palantine (JDP) with a link to complete the next steps on their website.

2) Abuse Awareness Training
    - Go to https://usabdevelops.com/memberships/131/login and register as a user. When you register and are asked for Little League Affiliation, you will choose "Iowa District 5".
    - Complete the course "Abuse Awareness for Adults"
    - Once you complete the course, you will receive a certificate. Please send this certificate to the designated player agent via email.

We are looking for 2024 Volunteers, Coaches & Umpires!

Grandview is looking for volunteers to serve our Little League players for the 2024 season. We are looking for committed individuals to provide our players the opportunity to have fun and play the game they love.

Umpires:
 - We are looking for baseball and softball umpires. 
 - If you would like to umpire, please contact the following Umpires in Chiefs Jeff Carstens & Paul Clinton

Board Members:
- Paper sign-up is posted at GVLL right inside the main concession stand door. First meeting will be September 2024!
- If you would like to join the board and have questions, please call/text VP Trevor Ingram at 515-802-0808.
- You must pass a background check to join.
- Responsibilities include: Attendance to monthly meetings, weekly assigned grill/concession stand duty, and assignment to a major role (e.g. player agent, grounds crew, concession stand manager, IT, equipment manager, etc.).

Coaches:
- We are in need of coaches at multiple levels for the 2024 season. You can sign-up online when registering your player or by reaching out to the player agent.

Concession Stand:
- We run 2 concession stands at Grandview LL open on weekdays and Saturdays during games.
- Volunteer hours can be counted towards silver chord hours.
- Anyone 14 and older can volunteer. 




ALL VOLUNTEER MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND COMPLETE SEXUAL ABUSE/SAFESPORT TRAINING AS REQUIRED BY LITTLE LEAGUE.
