About Us
The Perth Amboy Youth Football League, Inc.“Red Raiders,” is a non-profit 501 (c) organization. We have been sponsoring youth football and cheerleading since 1987 for local children ages 7 to 14. In 2020 we added flag football to our organization for children aged 5-7 years. From our inception, when we fielded approximately 50 football players, we have grown to our present capacity of fielding 150 football players, cheerleaders, and flag football. We have grown into a respected contender from a rookie “expansion organization” in the Suburban Youth League. We have been the League Champions three times in the “C” or lightweight division (1992, 1996, & 1997), once in the “B” or middleweight division (1995), and three times in the “A” or heavyweight division(1996, 1998, & 2020). The Junior Varsity Cheerleading squad was crowned Champions in 2006 and 2007 at the National Competition held in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Varsity squad finished 1st Runner Up in 2006 and National champion in 2007. Our youth have also served as ambassadors, improving the perception of Perth Amboy among the other League municipalities through their demeanor, talent, and sportsmanship. In towns with much higher median incomes and greater resources, we often have more spectators in the stands at away games than the home team does. Our Executive Board is highly regarded by the Suburban Youth League and is often called upon for advice and suggestions by the other programs.Safety is and always has been our first priority. No youth goes out on the field without quality protective equipment. We spend approximately $375 per football player on safety equipment and uniform. We spend roughly $200.00 on cheerleading uniforms per child. The manufacturer, as required by safety standards, certifies the helmets. Our coaches are certified through USA Football (NCACE), NYSCA, & Rutgers.

Division E — 4th grade

Each Division shall have one (l) Head Coach, one (1) assistant head coach, and no more than four (4) Assistant Coaches.
