Virginia Beach Little League would like to thank the Norfolk Tides whose ground crew and front office staff did a complete field makeover of our Minor Division baseball field. VBLL finished as the runner-up in a Tides online contest held earlier this year and received this field makeover.
The Tides team came to the VBLL complex on October 17th and regraded and leveled the field, as well as topped it with turface. Their staff also replaced the wood on the bleachers and painted the dugouts. The Minor Field looks amazing and we can’t thank the Tides staff for all their hard work and improvements!
Since the inaugural renovation in 2012, the Norfolk Tides have renovated 17 local fields. This program is made possible thanks to the Tides Youth Baseball Fund, a program established by the Tides in 1990 as a way to raise money for youth baseball and softball programs in Hampton Roads. The Youth Baseball Fund is partially financed by scoreboard announcements at Harbor Park throughout the season, and those wishing to make a donation directly to the Youth Baseball Fund can do so via norfolktides.com under the “Harbor Park” section.
