Football Experience:
Played Cornerback and Safety at Saginaw Valley where Coach Leslie Toole helped the program to achieve its first ever national ranking
(#8) and its first ever playoff appearance in the school's history; where they went to the Semi-Finals of the Division II Playoffs.
In 2000 Coach Toole served as a
Defensive Coordinator at Ricker Middle for 3 years assisting them to 3 consecutive non-losing seasons. Then went on to become the
Defensive Coordinator for his Alma Mater (Buena Vista High) where in his first year with the program he assisted Buena Vista to its first winning season in 31 years and its best record since 1970.
Coach Toole, in 2007, took the
Defensive Coordinator's position at Zion-Benton High (IL) where he assisted the Zee Bees to two non-losing seasons.
As a football coach, Coach Toole, literally, coached every position on offense and defense. helping to develop several All Conference Players and All State Players; including Defensive Back Jeremy Perry (Buena Vista High, Eastern Michigan, & Cleveland Browns).
Basketball Experience:
Coach Leslie Toole has 30 years of coaching all levels of amateur basketball. As a player in high school, Coach Toole had a hard nosed, physical approached to the game and instilled this in his players.
Coach Toole became the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Basketball team, who, at the time, had not won a game in its 3 previous years. In his first year the team won 4 games; second year 7 games and the next 5 years had winning records with deep runs in the playoffs.
In the off season, Coach Toole ran the Ntume Jets Girls AAU program where the 12u team, coached by him, finished 4th in the Michigan AAU State Tournament and 21st overall in the AAU National tournaments, which, at the time, were unheard of for a first year program (1998).
Coach Toole has assisted dozens of female athletes in achieving their goals to attend and/or participant in college academically and in collegiate sports.
Player development has always been a staple of Coach Toole's tenets. Attending numerous clinics, workshops, seminars and person to person connections in an effort to broaden his knowledge in a best effort to assist his athletes as athletes and citizens.
