Teams practice at Eyler Park twice a week starting in April (spring season) and late September (fall season)

Practices are 1.0 hour, twice weekly.

                                                          U8 - 1st-2nd grade -

The U8 Kickstarts continues to build off the core soccer foundations learned at the previous level. The primary focus at this level is to build player’s individual skill while incorporating some team aspects. Players will continue expanding their dribbling skills while playing fun games and competing against other teams in small-sided competition.

Players will be divided into teams at this age group and assigned a head coach. Two nights a week, we will have a group skills training session. Group skills night will be for all U8 players to work with all coaches on a range of various skills. Coaches will then meet with their teams one other night during the week to have a team focused practice.

Games will be played against other U8 teams in house at Eyler Park.  These games will be played on Saturday mornings and will be coach led. Teams will generally play three to four away games and three to four home games (at Eyler Park Soccer Field).

  • Practices are two nights of the week for an hour at Eyler Park Soccer Field.

Teams practice at Eyler Park twice a week starting in March (spring season) and early September (fall season).

ABOUT RECREATIONAL TRAVEL - URSL

The CYASC Travel Soccer program is comprised of both recreational and competitive levels of play. We expect our players and parents to maintain a high level of sportsmanship within our teams, opposing teams, and officials. We encourage the players to work hard, stay committed, and most importantly have FUN!

The soccer program follows the code of conduct set forth by the  CYASC and all rules and regulations set forth by the URSL league we participate in.

The travel teams are divided into the following age groups:

U10: Players in 3rd and 4th grade.
U12: Players in 5th and 6th grade
U14: Players in 7th and 8th grade

It is our goal to offer both a girls’ team and a boys’ team in each age group. If we do not have enough to split the players, we will offer a coed team. This division will be created based on overall interest from players.

WHAT IS NEEDED?

All players are required to wear shin guards. Socks should cover the shin guards at all times, ensuring players protection. Cleats are required. Uniforms are required to play in any URSL games. Players are also encouraged to bring water and a positive attitude to every training session and game.

COMMITMENT

Generally, teams meet twice a week and have a game on the weekends, typically on a Saturday, but could be on a Sunday. Coaches will communicate the date and times of all trainings and will also circulate the game schedule. Generally, teams will begin their season in early to mid-March in the Spring and early to mid-August in the Fall. The end of season tournament for most teams is normally the first weekend in June in the Spring and the first weekend in November in the Fall.

Teams will participate in the United Recreation Soccer League (URSL).
