Alex is from Victoria Texas and played  AAU and high school basketball in TX. He moved to Austin in 2003 to raise his family, graduated college in 2006 and is a travel surgical dental technician. He has coached basketball since 2010 and started the Central Texas Punishers program in 2015. After five years of success of running his own nonprofit basketball organization, he received an offer to run Jermaine O'Neal's Drive Nation Austin affiliate.
