2025 Majors Softball

Majors Softball is for players aged 11&12 years old. Typically, Majors Softball teams will hold two to three events (game or practice) per week from mid-April thru Early June. This division will travel to other local towns for games. Practices and Home games will be played at Ethel Peter's Complex or the Eliot Little League Field.

Players will need their own glove, but all other equipment will be provided by the league. A uniform Jersey and hat will be provided with registration. It is strongly encouraged for players to wear softball pants and cleats or athletic sneakers during practices and games. If players bring their own bats, they must be approved for Little League International game play and stamped with the "USAbat" logo.

Coaches at the Majors Softball level will focus on the continued development of softball fundamentals while driving the increased knowledge and awareness to game play situations and rules. Minors Softball is a player-pitch development level and all Little League International rules as well as local District 9 rules apply- This level is where all of the fundamentals learned in the earlier years of development come together and it really starts to look like softball from the first pitch to the last.

Teams will typically have 10-13 players per team, and games will be limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Players will bat in a continuous batting order throughout the game, but innings will be limited to 3 outs for each team. Strikeouts will be recognized as outs, and the batter will be retired. A team's offensive half-inning is over after 3 outs are recorded or the team scores 5 runs in the inning. The score is kept at this level of play, and players are taught and expected to win and lose with class and respect.
