| | Coach Korey Schlegel Over 20 years of lacrosse experience. Started playing freshman year of high school, 2004 in San Diego. Was ‘All San Diego Conference Top Mid-fielder in 2007’. Had an award named after me, The Korey Schlegel: Annually awarded to the player who demonstrates the most tenacity and perseverance. Went on to play college lacrosse at Westminster University in Salt Lake City, UT. Won a National Championship in 2007/2008 MCLA Division 2. Over 15 years of coaching experience. This will be my 3rd season with Ahwatukee 14U. I’ll liken my expectations to that of John Wooden, “His philosophy emphasized internal growth, ethical conduct (no profanity, criticism, lateness), and being true to oneself, seeing success as a process of hard work and dedication, not just a score.” Excited for another year of Lightning Lacrosse! |
| | Coach Jake Wells Jake grew up playing ice hockey in Alaska and participating in several travel teams. He is new to the sport of lacrosse, but has two boys playing with the Lightning: one son on the 10U team and another on the 8U team. He is having fun learning the sport with the 8U team and trying to make it an enjoyable experience for the boys. Jake studied electrical engineering at BYU in Provo, UT and works for an engineering firm in Phoenix. On the weekend, he enjoys biking and camping with his boys. |
