The St. Columbkille Crusaders Select Baseball Program will have teams at the 8U-14U USSSA levels. The age group your player qualifies for is based on their age as May 1 of the season that will be played. Players are allowed to play up to two age levels above their actual age (so a 9 year old can play 11U, etc.) if the coach believes the player has the necessary skill and maturity levels, but not down an age level (so if a player turns 12 before April 30th he cannot play on the 11U team). Player fees are dependent upon how many games and tournaments the respective teams decide to play, plus uniforms. Most teams play about 20-25 individual midweek games and 3-5 tournaments, usually one per month plus the end of year USSSA state tournament, adding up to around 30-40 games for the season, which lasts from the beginning of April through mid-July. Teams usually have off-season workouts for about an hour a week starting in November, then increasing in frequency and length in March. Home games are played at our field complex on 84th Street and Fairview, and off season workouts usually are in the St. Columbkille gym or other local indoor facilities. Midweek games and tournaments generally are in the Omaha area unless a team decides to play farther away.

2026 tryouts will take place on June 16th and 17th, 2025. Check in for the tryouts will begin at 5:30 and the tryouts will begin at 6 PM at the St. Columbkille Fields located at 8383 Fairview Road in Papillion. Please check in at the concession stand near Aerts Field. If your child is not able to participate on June 16th and 17th, an alternative try out will be arranged with the respective coach of the age group your child would qualify for in the 2026 season. Please register even if you are unable to attend the scheduled tryout.
