Scholarship Guidelines

The EAWR JFL Organization encourages and supports youth participation in football and cheerleading and making these opportunities available to any player, regardless of their financial situation. The EAWR JFL offers scholarships for families who need financial assistance for children to play sports.  

Please fill out the scholarship application completely and submit to the JFL Board by July 1.  

JFL Scholarship Guidelines 

  • Applications are accepted from youth living in East Alton and Wood River and surrounding areas, with priority given to those residing in the East Alton Wood River High School District 14 school district.  

  • Scholarships may cover 50% or 100% of registration fees. 

  • Scholarships are for one season and awarded based on need. 

  • Funding is limited, and scholarships are not guaranteed to all applicants. 

  • Travel expenses are not covered.

Terms & Conditions

  1. All information in the application is true and correct to the best of your knowledge.
  2. The EAWR JFL Scholarship Committee considers each scholarship on a case-by-case basis.
  3. There is not guarantee of assistance by submitting your application.
  4. You are responsibly for all additional equipment required not provided by EAWR JFL.
  5. Scholarships are not awarded through monetary payment nor with a refund. Scholarships are provided via a discount code used for online registration.
  6. Should your child receive a scholarship, you will be required to complete 4 volunteer hours, per scholarship recipient with a max. 12 hours. These volunteer hours are to be completed during the current season. Failure to satisfy this condition will disqualify you and your child(ren) from being considered for another scholarship for the following season.
  7. All borrowed equipment must be returned to be considered for another scholarship.
  8. It is your responsibility to ensure your child(ren) attend, at minimum, 80% of all scheduled practices and games.
  9. Your application is considered private and will not be shared with anyone other than the EAWR JFL Scholarship Committee.
