WASHINGTON, PA (August 15, 2023) - The first semi-final matchup of the 2023 DICK’S Sporting Goods PONY League World Series between Youngstown, Ohio, and Edogawa, Japan, belongs to Edogawa by a score of 12-7.

A three-run Kodai Minematsu home run put Japan ahead in the bottom of the first, 3-0.

Youngstown wasn’t going down easy, as they put up six in the fourth and an additional run in the fifth to make it 7-3. Those runs were scored on a Brayden Verroco single, Logan Patellis double, Ryan Weibling single, and a wild pitch.
