Evergreen Little League Baseball and Softball, in partnership with dedicated parent volunteers, provides a fun, safe, and positive environment where children develop skills, build lasting friendships, and learn teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect through baseball and softball. We foster community involvement, recognizing that the active participation of our volunteers is essential to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate, grow, and enjoy the benefits of youth sports.
Volunteer Requirements:
**Starting this 2025 Spring season, Evergreen Little League requires each family to complete the following duties:
(Sign up links will be sent out before our spring season.)
● Snack Shack: Volunteer for 3 games in the snack shack at Quimby Oak, Chaboya or Leyva fields.
● Field Preparation OR Field Cleanup Day: Field Preparation is 1 game day field prep. This will be 1 hour before the game begins (which includes dragging the field, chalking the lines, setting bases, etc.) and 30 minutes after the game (resetting the field, returning bases to their bin, cleaning the dugouts of any trash, etc). Field Cleanup Day is 2 hours on designated field cleanup days. The league will determine which field to attend, focusing on tasks such as pulling weeds, laying dirt, cleaning snack shacks, and beautifying the fields in preparation for the Spring season.
⚾︎ - T-Ball 3 Game Day Assistants per game in place of Field Preparation
⚾︎ - PeeWee 1 Game Day Assistant per game in place of Field Preparation
● Score Keeper and Pitch Count: (Only for Minors, Majors, Intermediate, Juniors and Seniors baseball) sign up to score keep or pitch count your players’ team for 1 home or 1 away game.
⚾︎ - Umpire 1 home or 1 away game (Only for Farm and Minors Baseball)
⚾︎ - For Minors and Majors Girls' Softball divisions, sign up to score keep for 1 home or 1 away game.
● Jamboree: Volunteer for 2 hours at the Jamboree (which includes: Picture Day, Hit-a-thon, Parade, Kid Zone, Set up and/or Clean up)
Seniors Volunteer Requirements:
⚾︎ - Seniors regular season is from May-June, consisting of a limited number of games.
⚾︎ - Seniors $300 volunteer deposit is required for regular season and All-Stars. Please complete the regular season.
Volunteer requirements and All Stars volunteer requirements must be done to be reimbursed your $300deposit.
● Snack Shack: Volunteer for 1 game in the snack shack at Quimby Oak Field.

Volunteer Roles:
● Manager/Coach
Pee Wee, Farm, Minors, Majors, Intermediate, Juniors and Seniors team is allowed 1 Manager, 1 Coach and 1 Assistant Coach (Team Parent, Manager and Coach/Asst. Coach cannot be from the same player) T-Ball is allowed 1 Manager, 3 Coaches/Asst. Coach and 1 Team Parent.
● Must complete a full season.
● Must attend 1 Field Cleanup Day.
● No experience is necessary to coach or manage.
● Patience, organization, planning and ability to learn are key.
● A coaching clinic will be held to help develop your baseball/softball and youth leadership skills.
● Tools will be provided to help plan for practices and games.
● Time commitment will vary by division. Lower division 5-7 hours a week. Upper division 10-15 hours a week. 30 minutes of prepping for each hour on the field.
● Must bring your own scorekeeping book.
● Special requirements: (Before allowing coaches/managers to take the field)
● Complete a Background Check.
● Other certifications (CPR/First Aid, Abuse Awareness, Concussion Awareness, etc.)
● Team Parent
Each team is allowed 1 Team Parent (Spouse or significant other must NOT be a Coach, Team Manager or Assistant Coach.)
● Assist manager with effective communication with parents.
● Create volunteer assignment schedule for games.
● Manage & collect any team fees (I.e. banners, end of season party, coaches gift)
● Assist in building a sense of community within the team.
● Attend team parent meeting (usually 1-2 per season)
● Coordinate volunteers for league wide events.
● Must notify your team’s volunteer hours completed during the season. The Volunteer Coordinator will update you with the hours during the season.
● Complete a Background Check.
● Board Member*
Those individuals who are truly passionate about serving and improving our league, please consider becoming a board member. It takes a great deal of off-the-field work to bring the season to life. As a board member you are helping to shape the direction of the league and represent the League’s General Membership (parents, players, coaches, etc). The Board Member duties are in addition to Team Parent, Team Manager, Coach and Assistant Coach duties.
● Board members are responsible for the following: registration, try-outs, Opening Day, Jamboree/Hit-a-Thon, and Picture Day.
● Staffing Field and infrastructure improvement projects such as Field days, Cleaning out containers, painting, general clean up etc...
● Staffing Postseason for 2 games during the post season (All-Stars, Sectionals, and Slugfest) such as tournament director, announcing, scorekeeping, field prep, tear down or other tasks as needed.
Volunteer Deposit
To reinforce the importance of our need for volunteers, ELL will be collecting a $300 volunteer deposit, along with your ELL registration. All Registrations and volunteer deposits are paid online. There will beNO Checks/Cash accepted.This fee will be collected from each family by credit card. The volunteer deposit will be returned at the completion of the regular season of 2025 once all of your volunteer requirements have been fulfilled.
Buy-out Option for Volunteer Requirement
We strongly encourage volunteer participation, as this makes it possible for us to run a successful league and gives a sense of community. However, we also realize that some families may not want to volunteer.Therefore, you can select to buy-out your volunteer requirement and we will keep your volunteer deposit or not reimburse you for your online volunteer deposit.
All-Star Games Volunteer Deposit
At the start of 2025 All Stars Season, if ELL is chosen to host any all-star games, a separate volunteer deposit of $200 will be collected. Each family that has a player selected to be an All-Star will need to submit an All-Star Volunteer Deposit, in the form of cash or check, along with their regular All-Star verification forms. Your deposit will be returned at the completion of the 2025 All-Star season once your volunteer requirements have been fulfilled. (3 duties per family required, may be less depending on number of games hosting)
